    Yeah, but not during the game. Only on winning the championship and in the winning team’s home city by the winning team’s fans.

    There have been numerous allegations of scandal and corruption against FIFA, the international governing body for the sport.
    IIRC, the big allegation is that they took bribes in order to award hosting rights for the World Cup.

    @ Clark Actually it’s “soccer” to pretty much everywhere English-speaking outside the U.K. Even in Australia, South Africa & New Zealand the term “soccer” is as common as “football”. The word even originated in England from “association football”, coined in the 19th century. I don’t quite understand the snootiness expressed by the British when “soccer” is mentioned.
