Aber Oliver, in letzter Zeit ist es nicht ein Colt 45, ist es ein Glock! Eine große österreichische Exportwirtschaft.

Carved into a mountain a by member of the Ku Klux Klan on land stolen from the Lakota tribe. Considering the bloody history of manifest destiny the six shooter is the only thing missing from that monument as far as symbolism is concerned.

Sam Colt’s “machine” was considered “revolutionary” in allowing a whole SIX rounds to be carried at one loading. As omQR notes, that is NOT the problem today, but the 30 to 100 rounds that can now be carried, and fired at roughly 100 times the “rounds per minute” an average shooter could manage with a “Peacemaker”, which folks don’t realize, with the ammunition available back then, wasn’t very accurate beyond about 10 feet.

And, it is NOT the “assault rifle”, but the assault SHORT BARREL WEAPONS, like Glock, Uzi, MAC, etc that are far more often used in criminal, and “mass killing” situations. The difference is that your average gang-banger “drive by” is so common, it doesn’t get the press that a school shooting, or “good neighborhood” event with fewer killed and less “collateral damage”. But, where the founding fathers considered “Common Sense” a document worth reading, and wrote the Constitution, today’s “gun nuts” (not gun OWNERS per se) only read one half of the Second Amendment, and have little “common sense” when it comes to what folks actually need for “home defense” where they are NOT in “military – grade militias”.

You are such a fop. “Limpy Liberal?” I’d dare you to say that to all those macho veterans who are liberal. Such a puke.
You are run by your propaganda and ideology. Open your eyes, things are far more complex and less defined than you believe. No Conservative is exactly the same as are Liberals or anyone else. (There are lots of others that don’t fit either like myself.)

Based on the Babelfish translation, omQR commented that it would be a Glock today, not a Colt. He also points out that Glock is an Austrian company. (Did you notice that this is an Austrian comic?) Nor did he label it a problem, nor did he mention capacities.
As to the 2nd Amendment – the definition of “militia” being essentially ALL able bodied Americans has long been established.

    “God created some men big,
and he created some men small.
And he created Colonel Colt –
    who equalized them all.”

Borglin considered these four men examples of his White Superiority and heroes for the “white race” (sic).
South Dakota historian Doane Robinson is credited with conceiving the idea of carving the likenesses of famous people into the Black Hills region of South Dakota in order to promote tourism in the region. Robinson’s initial idea was to sculpt the Needles; however, Gutzon Borglum rejected the Needles site because of the poor quality of the granite and strong opposition from environmentalists and Native American groups.[citation needed] They settled on the Mount Rushmore location, which also has the advantage of facing southeast for maximum sun exposure. Robinson wanted it to feature western heroes like Lewis and Clark, Red Cloud4 and Buffalo Bill Cody5 but Borglum decided the sculpture should have a more national focus, and chose the four presidents whose likenesses would be carved into the mountain. After securing federal funding, construction on the memorial began in 1927, and the presidents’ faces were completed between 1934 and 1939. Upon Gutzon Borglum’s death in March 1941, his son Lincoln Borglum took over construction. Although the initial concept called for each president to be depicted from head to waist, lack of funding forced construction to end in late October 1941.

The U.S. National Park Service took control of the memorial in 1933, while it was still under construction, and has managed the memorial to the present day.6[not in citation given] It attracts nearly three million people annually.7

We don’t have militias anymore. We have the National Guard and a standing army.
