And when I fail again I’ll just keep blaming Bush for another four years.

sure you will!!! He will blame Bush
wmconelly said, 4 months ago
Soon as Bush pays off his gop charges on the National Credit card, all the blaming will cease and us sycophants can declare what a fine and forthright manger he was. Should only take, oh, 30 years…

2009 was the first year the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were fought on the books. Actual spending and the deficit have both dropped every year Obama has been in office.

It REALLY is Bush’s fault. Bush was simply awful. If he hadn’t been, there was no way someone this unqualified could have ever been elected. This guy is even worse. End of story. We haven’t had a really good president since Eisenhower. We are circling the bowl…

Let’s assume for a moment that the economy and taxes and everything go back – right now – to when Bill Clinton left office. That would be a surplus of $200B a year. Your debt is $16T, or $16.000B. Divide. Yes, 80 years, assuming nothing “bad” happens. Realistically it will take 10 to 35 years (Ryan plan) to even balance the budget, so you end up with about $26T debt before you get any surplus. Expect debt payback by 2150, if you’re lucky. To quote Jon Stewart: “We are soooo screwed!”.

Thinking further about it: not raising the debt limit and declaring default and bankruptcy sounds like an alternative under these circumstances. That way at least EVERYBODY on earth is screwed and we can restart civilization by issuing pretty shells as trading currency…

Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but the debt has increased by 6 trillion in four years. It took over two hundred years to get to 10 trillion. Bush is gone and out of office. And yet here we are talking about a new debt ceiling.

Obama destroying America one year at a time.
wmconelly said, 4 months ago
@mneedle. I got a mortgage on my house. I set up a budget and work and pay it off. Did you see Bush doin’ that? I didn’t. I saw him blowing bubbles — housing, military and health care spending bubbles — then being shocked SHOCKED when the bubbles popped. If you want to think Obama inflated those bubbles and popped ‘em, be my guest. Belief’s a lot more important than facts and figures to the current gop. However, I can tell you now what I’m not voting for again.

Sigh. Another cartoonist who didn’t hear the speech. (Usually Canadians are smarter than that.) Obama wasn’t laying out his agenda as much as re-asserting LIBERAL values that had been kicked to the curb for decades before voters and citizens realized that these were values they wanted government to uphold.

Perhaps you hadn’t noticed, but the debt ceiling was raised 6 times during the Bush Administration.

If O can’t do all that in 4 years, he will become king of the world and steal from working Americans that way.

Say the guys who spent the entire Bush administration blaming Clinton!

Not with the tea-baggers running the House, you won’t.

Could it be that the outside world has woken up to the fact that Obama is not the Great One. I think this is the first foreign comic I have seen to criticize Obama.
