Congress was kryptonite for Obama last term. Would you like to compare Bush’s vacation time to our current Presidents? No no you would not because that would deflate you ignorantt point. Oh well I will do it anyway just to show Ima is a tool: Calls to several Presidential libraries reveal that President Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush, was on vacation more — 1,020 days — than any U.S. President since Herbert Hoover and possibly more than any other President in history.
If the Democrats in Congress and President Obama have any compromise to be made at all would day that they need to raise the tax limit for those to continue to the increase on the expired temporary tax decreases of GW Bush from $200,000 per singles and $250,000 per family income to $1,000,000 each. Even the lower figure would NOT include 90% or more of the small business people of American (and none of the working middle class at all).
I can not imagine that even the Republicans (well, perhaps excepting the already brain dead Tea Party types) could ever even the state that such limits would be hurting the true job creating small business people of this country. I mean all we are talking about a 4% increase in taxes here, perhaps even most American millionaires would be willing to make that much of a sacrifice towards the good of the country that enables them to make their millions!
Then, with reasonable and doable cuts in both the military and those programs that can be cut in the federal budget, we would be able to reduce the federal deficit blow $1 trillion even next year, and further and further as we go along towards 2016 and beyond. This would happen even with a slow but steady pick up of the American economy.
And if they can not even make this small amount of compromise , then they can watch the American economy truly tank. And regardless of just what such as Ima, and her other ultra conservative friends here want to think the American people are NOT going to blame President Obama for this. They will be blaming the Congress itself (and the Republicans and their Tea Party “friends” especially. Then come 2014, the Republicans will simply become a footnote in American future history. SO, if I were an ultra conservative, I would want my Congress person to be one of those willing to make such a compromise, not only for the United States, but fo rthe sake of the political party that I believed in!
Well, I am neither an ultra conservative, nor an ultra liberal, but I would want the Republicans to especially show a willingness to compromise here, as I would actually not want to just hand the government over totally to the Democrats either. But if they (the Republicans) do not compromise at all, then that is exactly what is going to happen. And those idiots in states that threaten to leave the union are not going anywhere either!!
The super-rich are not so concerned about the upper bracket rising from 35% to 39%. That is just a distraction. However, they are REALLY concerned about the loopholes that allow short-term capital gains to be taxed at 15% rather than at 35% (which is how guys like Romney get away with paying 14% on $20+ million).
