Definitely more accurate than Payne, and the Irish know a lot about tax breaks for the rich, which is exactly why so many “artists” move there, and why they’re in economic trouble.

Odd how politicians spin things. When they originally passed, they were called tax cuts. When they were about to expire the first time they were called tax increases. Now that they are going to expire a second time they are called tax cuts.

According to the treacherous traitor grover norquist anything that isn’t a reduction in revenue to the government is a tax increase. so if the tax cuts are allowed to expire according to the traitor that would be a tax increase. It’s all in the target audience and how you want to “spin” it, truth and reality be damned.

Also please note that the demoncrats have, with maybe a few exceptions, referred to the bush era tax cuts consistently as cuts. They have been truthful about what they are. They are from the bush era, and they were tax rate cuts. It has been the rethuglican’s who have changed the rhetoric and infused lies and falsehoods to try and change the perspective and impact of those bush era tax cuts. Everything from saying because he signed the law to renew them that they are now Obama’s tax cuts (FALSE) to saying that they are tax increases if you allow them to expire. That in itself is the tricky one. Yes you would allow the taxes to increase but only to the level to which they were cefore the temporary tax cut, not a net increase. So it is all a matter of scope and perspective on the last one. So on one point they are liars, and the other point they are truth manipulators. Yep that last one pretty much sums up a politician from either party. But you still can’t argue with the republican’ts being liars.

Education is taking it in the neck AGAIN this year. 400,000 teachers being laid off or not rehired. How about a 50% tax on incomes over a $10 million? Let’s get real, folks. We will never get out of this fiscal hole until we get back some of the cash the rich have stashed overseas, $32 TRILLION worth.

Even in Ireland they can see the situation clearly. Why doesn’t the American media put it in such truthfull terms. The ‘liberal’ media is giving the Romney ticket a pass.

It’s just interesting that neocons never met a tax break they didn’t love, or subsidy from the same “government” they condemn. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus, and he’s called tax breaks, fee waivers, cheap royalties (or none), taxpayer money to NOT grow crops (or grow them, like tobacco, which is “evil”), and encouragement to ship jobs overseas as there won’t be tariffs. Tax wealthy incomes at the same rate as “middle class”?? ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS, HOW DARE Mitt pay the same rate as even his running mate, who earned less than 1/10 the income as Mitt, and paid a higher percentage!

Sad but true….They will do away with school buldings, principals, teachers, the whole thing. Kids will learn at home on computers. No social skills developed, but what the hey!?

You Can’t cut taxes for the poor (although Bush tried with his Child tax care credit). They aren’t paying taxes to begin with. Half nothing is still nothing.

We really need to broaden the tax base which means EVERYONE pays a percentage. none of this crap where 48% or so don’t pay anything.

Oh and don’t bring up SS and Medicare because the liberals point to it as taxes when they want to say the rich aren’t paying their fair share. But then they turn around and say they paid for that SS and Medicare when we try to cut back on entitlements.

The truth is that 48% of the country aren’t paying their fair share and it isn’t the Romneys and the Rockafellers. It’s Joe Six-Pack and Colleen Checkout clerk. My taxes are close to 20% so that someone else can pay nothing.

Because the Percentage of his income becomes highway robbery. I don’t know how much you make but at a minimum he said he pays 13%.

I think I read somewhere that he made $20 Million (I’m not verifying so don’t thow a fit). 13% of $20 Million is $2.6 Million dollars. That’s an awful lot to expect one family to pay for the upkeep of the government when many others are paying nothing.

Again, I don’t know how much you make but let’s assume it’s $50K – you said he’s paying 2/3rds so you are paying about $10K for the upkeep of the government. Why is it fair that he pays 260 Times as much as you do for Fire Protection, Police Protection, Military, Roads, etc. Do you honestly think it’s fair to hit him up that much harder because he has it?

I don’t think it’s fair. I don’t make near as much as Mr. Romney but I’m paying close to 20% and I resent the hell out of these people who complain that the Rich aren’t paying their fair share when they aren’t paying anything.

Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan are talking about bringing back some fairness to the tax code and I say “It’s about time”. We will be well served if Mr. Obama becomes a one term President and we can finally equalize the tax system.

@charlie555 – Many homeschoolers do it today. School is a good place to teach social skills. But so is: Boyscouts, 4-H, Evening Sports, Sunday School, Church, etc.

Teachers have, to some extent, been given a pass on not having to become more efficient while the rest of the world has turned to technology. Technology today would allow 1 teacher to reach out to 100s of students. You still need classroom management but that can often be handled by minimum wage room mothers.

I have NO problem with people earning money HONESTLY, and caring enough to share. I’ve known a number of VERY wealthy people, and they EARNED it. Oddly, they were all very nice, and generous. It’s the folks who essentially STEAL the wealth, even when their “bought” politicians make it “legal” who are creeps. Also, those who HAVE real money or talent seem satisfied, it’s those who can never have enough, who again, are creeps.

“I have NO problem with people earning money HONESTLY
So what does this have to do with the strip? are you saying that Mitt and Ryan did not earn the money honestly?
3 guys eat the same meal here in the USA.
1 guy gets up, takes the tip off the table that was left by all 3 and just leaves with out paying.
The 2nd guy pays for 1/3 of the bill that comes to the table. Maybe he throws a little more onto the table for a tip.
3rd guy pays 2/3 of the bill that comes to the table. Then throws a little more for the tip that was taken.
Obama comes in and cries “Not Fair” “Not Fair” The guy who only paid 2/3 of the bill, well he took his money from the 1st guy. That tip is nothing to that guy, why he rich. I am going to make sure he pays 3/4 of the bill next time! And If He does not pay 3/4 of the bill he will be stealing the money out of the pocket of the 2nd guy! Of course I have already discounted this bill by 40% by putting it on my China Credit card. But no worries your kids and grand kids will be paying that off.
