The media focused on three or so vandals (maybe paid for by some organization) because the media wanted a video story. If you look at the long shot, all the cameras were focused on those louts, and missed the more sedate protesters.

When I watched clips of the protesters, I felt heartened! From the clips I saw, there were different groups advocating or protesting different issues. It didn’t matter to me what the issues are, or what the viewpoint being advocated was. I think it’s fantastic that people are willing to march, carry placards, SPEAK UP, talk to each other, demonstrate, do more than whine about whatever the issue.
I didn’t see any violence and if there was some, I don’t condone it. I’m talking about just demonstrating. I think it’s great!
I remember what non-violent civil disobedience helped accomplish in the 60s!

LLeRay, actually, there are stories of undercover policemen in a demonstration in Ontario that did vandalism and threw rocks to blame the demonstrators.

There were also fires in the 1960’s that were set by the RCMP and blamed on the FLQ (a violent separatist organisation, like the ETA or IRA of Quebec)

That’s what we call a false flag operation.
