    How about Tom Hanks? Richard Dreyfus? Robin Williams?

    Get over it. Its not like Batman is all that complex. A moody rich guy who beats up bad guys.

    I felt the same way when BBC announced Peter Capaldi will be the 12th Doctor.

    Ben Affleck seems to be a very good choice to me.

    Maybe the Riddler would be better casting for Robin Williams.

    If you didn’t see “Dark Knight” with Heath Ledger’s Joker, you missed something extraordinary. Of the three Bale Batman’s, that’s the indispensible one (and not because of Bale).

    @Gore Bane

    “You didn’t mind Michael Keaton. So now Ben Affleck is a problem?”

    I read an article in Entertainment Weekly on this subject, and apparently there WAS widespread panic among the fanboys when Keaton’s name was first announced. The difference was that they didn’t have email and twitter, so they actually had to use the U.S. Mail to complain…

    Most of them probably got over it. I don’t recall what the response was when Val Kilmer took over from Keaton, but I know there was also discontent when Clooney donned the cowl. All these, of course were reactions to the announcements of the casting, before a single frame of celluloid was shot.
