    Stop feeding it and it will die. End the drug war that feeds it. That created the cartels and feed the violence in the first place. Such idiots, keep doing the wrong thing and expect a different out come. Move along, no intelligent life on this planet.

    Now why didn’t we all think of that? Leave the cartels to run business as usual. Hmm, that’ll get rid of the problem. You update your near sighted prescription lately? Which intelligence are you using? Just the one that says ‘please stop the violence’? If you feel better offering a non solution, that’s fine.

    no, swtendoublem, legalize and license—that is, take control of the drugs. Eliminate the illegal market. Now what will need to be addressed is what will those currently making big bucks in drug-supply turn to when their market is legalized and taken away?

    @Ms. Ima

    The Drug War is not only about oppression but money. Lots of money. Not just from the inflated prices of drugs that would cost pennies, but the tax payer money to police departments and military. All bad and worse than if they had all remained legal since 1914.

    If only drugs were legalized the suffering of the Mexican people would end and many of our African American and Hispanic youth would not be incarcerated for a victimless crime.

    Apparently, you’re not familiar with Prohibition in the United States and how that worked out. The parallels between that and the current drug war are nearly perfect. If you’d been around during Prohibition, you’d have been arguing that Al Capone and all the other “cartels” that sprang up to supply illegal alcohol could only be countered with more force, rather than with legalization.

    Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.

    Lets have the CIA do a little “Wet Work” and remove the Cartels with EXTREME prejudice.

    Interesting theory. How’s that working with the legal marijuana market? The mexican government is controlled by the cartels. How do you propose they legalize and take away their profits?

    Thank you for showing your ignorance and presumption.
