The loss of the Olympics to Rio, Curry thinks Obama was embarassed by it, and the Nobel is a second place prize.
I think we were lucky…In this day where the word Terrorist is part of every Major Event the return for what an Olympics will cost could not be what they excpected it to be. Look at New Deli in India, they have The Common Wealth Games starting soon and are not ready for it..between the displaced people and the construction over-runs Deli is going to have a major financial mess on its hands.
Brazil is already deeply in debt and by the time they Tear Down the current city, redesign and rebuild it they are going to have a debt that makes our deficit look tiny.
One thing when Brazil comes knocking on our door for a loan… DON’T ANSWER!!!
”Brazil says it is to offer $10bn in financing to the IMF to help improve the availability of credit in developing countries”
It repaid its 2002 loans from the IMF 2 years early in 2007.
In 2016, when the Olympics rolls into Rio, Brazil should be the 5th largest economy, presently it is the…9th?

Now, I know President Lula bragged his government had repaid its foreign debt completely in 2008, turning from a debtor nation to a creditor nation for the first time ever and I know he didn’t quite tell the whole tale but what sources do you have that state Brazil is deeply in debt?
Meanwhile, China…ahem. How much of your cash does it hold? And is it considered a debt? Will they be keeping the door closed when you go knocking on their door?
Sorry, I’m being mean. :-( I must really stop doing that. I apologise for my meanspiritness. Britain has the London games and my council tax is going to rise to help pay for it. :p grumbles
Kind of suprising , about a few weeks after Rio won the bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics Local Drug Thugs in a Gang War shot down a Police chopper in Rio & killing the officers involed! Rio’s got thier hands full if they want to get rid of the “vermin” that is plauging thier city by the time the olympics come in 2016!
