The last dictator in Europe. Lukashenko has to work on his moustache though, Stalin woudn’t shake his at it.

Had to read up on Belarus some time ago. Can’t remember much about it, but what I do remember is negative.

I was on holiday in Croatia and I saw a country designation on a car I didn’t recognise: “BY”.
My 1st Belarus car! ahem.
I remember thinking as a pre-teen that mink coats came from Minsk (*shrug).
Anyway, they just had farcical elections a few days ago. Surprisingly though, Lukashenko won by a landslide. :-|
Russian election observers also agreed that the elections were “open & transparent”
I guess they meant the opposition blokes in his jails could have voted, too, but chose not to.
