You said that before DumB@sh. Do you really want UAW built Yugos? A nationalized industry would require all others to leave the country and excise tarriffs on imports. Been there did that in the ’70s.
Hybrids and small cars wont work - I was caught in a relatively “mild” midwest storm two nights ago and almost decided to stop and let it pass. The realities of distance, hazards, and emergency needs will lead most people to buy fuller-sized vehicles. And because rural and urban areas are connected commercially - restricting smaller vehicles to the city wont work either. Everyone just relax and buy a twinkie or something.
