The US doesn’t particulary care who wins the election, from what I see.
Ironically, it seems to be the Afghani voters who prefer Karzai. Not for any logical reasons, but that’s okay, even in America voters rarely employ logic when voting…. ;)
Scott: by ‘voters’ you must mean those who push their many ballots into the boxes? Yes, more than 50% ‘voted’ for Karzai. But the liberals didn’t count all of their votes, so only 48% were finally counted as voting for Karzai, thereby forcing a runoff.
One wonders how voting is arranged in Mr Heng’s pleasant (?) little dictatorship of Singapore ? Surely more efficiently than in chaotic Afghanistan, but in both cases (as elsewhere) in the service of the rich and powerful…..
