I just finished Woodward’s “The War Within,” the fourth in his series of reporting on the Iraq war. It gave me a better understanding of the competing factions within Iraq and the new Iraqi government’s inability to step up to the plate after Sadaam’s removal. It’s worth reading even if you don’t read the first three in the series.
I read one of Woodward’s books, forgot which one, but I know I preferred Thomas E. Ricks Fiasco, and I haven’t started his new one yet. This is just a preference in style.
BCS, LLeRay. I’m in a uique position where I can actually have contact with returnee’s from Iraq. Currently, passing on “war stories” is not in vogue. I have been advised that about half of what is reported can be trusted.

Humphries - My nephew said the same when he came back. Don’t know which half, though, and he doesn’t get the bigger picture.
