I remember someone or other saying in 1989 (I’ve forgotten who, can someone help?) that capitalism didn’t defeat communism; it’s just that communism went broke first.
Write_off; it would certainly be to your benefit to “play it like Canada.” We had so many socialist regulations on unrestrained capitalism in place that, although it all fell apart the States leading tp your recession, Canada’s economy has hardly been affected. For example, we currently have the strongest banking system in the world as we had restraints on leverage amounts. I personally got a 12% raise in pay this year. (How YOU doin’?) Sure, our oil and lumber is down as Americans can’t afford them any more, but the rest is doing fine.
oh come on now - failure is such a harsh word - surely we can borrow our way out of it - Lets just all get more credit cards and pay later or something

Ok, doc, should the US play it like Canada? Where’s the Superpower we can mooch off of?

Right_On, are you aware that we have about 5% of the world population but use about 20% of the world’s resources? Who is mooching on whom?
