At times, Blue and Sheldon seem pretty close. If the strip hadn’t ended, would we have seen a cat dating an egg by now?

Cody and sadly Blue disappeared sometime before the strip ended.

I can see why Cody disappeared since he was a very unlikable character, Blue on the other hand was a welcomed addition.

It’s to bad this strip ended I think it is better than Garfield which I like as well.

Is it ended? I thought I heard something about it having been continued on the web somewhere after the syndication ended.

It ended in ‘89; the World Wide Web didn’t exist yet, and not people many had even heard the the term “internet”. Davis started posting reruns on Garfield.com much later, but sadly there’s never been any new strips made. I never heard why it was cancelled; I always loved it.

I never understood why Blue and Cody were never animated.

I think it was late 1991, when a guide to internet addresses came out. It was about 5/8" thick.

Imagine if someone did a printed version of all the addresses for just today? However many billion would it be?

Yes, it WAS ended, but yes, it was continued as a webcomic, just not as close to the end of it’s syndication as you thought.
