Yeah, everyone is happy except for the ‘spirit of competition’.

Classic Two Bits. I love this one.
Kian has a book that he loves where the kids ask the teacher who won a volley ball game they just played. The teacher tells them it was a tie. Since Kian can only read a little bit (he is three), I change the teacher’s line to, “Well, Bobby’s team won and they are so proud of themselves. And John’s team knows they have to work harder next time and then they may win too”

I’m all for that kind of league.

Despite the teachers and parents best efforts the kids do keep the score and will always keep score. That league of all winners is designed for the Parents self esteem not the kids.
Great toon Walt.

Love it, Derrick. You’ll probably be changing many books in the coming years. And cranking out your own. This is the first sherpa strip I posted in April ‘11. I’ve been very busy at work and haven’t had the time or energy to put out new strips lately.

Great point, Drew. And it is also designed so the parents don’t have to teach their kids how to deal with losing. So many parents today don’t let their kids lose. Not good preparation for the real world.
