    I had early myopia and the doctor said it had nothing to do with my propensity to do close-up things. Now, they’re finding that a lot of us are born with the susceptibility to myopia and if we do a lot of close-up work we will develop it, but if we don’t, it may not happen.

    While we’re at it, it should be he (or she) not “they”. A toddler is singular. “They” is plural. Sorry. Grade 9 English teacher has left an indelible mark on my psyche.
