Don’t forget Happy Days was a spin-off itself from Love American Style.

No, he’s right. It was “Love, American Style”. The episode “Love and the Happy Days” was the pilot of Garry Marshall’s show “A New Family in Town”. It was actually made before “American Graffiti” came out but none of the networks wanted it until they saw the success of the movie. It featured Harold Gould as Mr. C instead of Tom Bosley and Susan Neher as Joanie instead of Erin Moran. It was also one of the only times (if not THE only) that we saw Chuck, Richie’s older brother. When ABC saw the success of the movie, then they asked Marshall to change the concept a little (adding Fonzi and dropping Chuck) and bought the show as “Happy Days”.

When Happy Days ended, Tom Bosley did a monologue and the lights went down. Before the camera cut, a thump was heard and Bosley shouted “Chuck! Is that you?!?”

Billy Ray really was a rip off from “Aching Breaking Heart” done by Hank Sr. and I was never a fan of either of them anyway. I was listening to Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath instead(R.I.P. Dime Bag Darrel).
