All those letters in the “Good” boxes and so few in the “Bad”.

The web site is working. The ACA is working quite well, especially in blue states, and over a million people are already getting good insurance who couldn’t get it before. What else have you got, cons? Can’t repeal it now.

Gore Bane says, “No other living President has ever made “Do you think the President is intentionally misleading us” a legitimate question during his administration.” Come on, you’re kidding us. Think of the living presidents — G. H. W. Bush (Read my lips), Clinton (I did not have sex with that woman), G. W. Bush (Yellowcake and mobile labs). And if you include a few not still living you’ve got Nixon (I am not a crook), Reagan (My heart tells me I didn’t approve this), and Johnson (The Tonkin Gulf Resolution). This is bipartisan. You can’t trust any of them.

I’ll grant that Bush, despite all the people questioning his intelligence, was smart enough to let other people do most of the talking.

The claims of Saddam’s nuclear & other WMD programs were pure fiction. The projected cost of the war? Pure fiction. Welcomed as liberators? Not so much. Connection between Saddam & Al-Qaeda? Bin Laden had this to say:

“The land of the Arab world, the land is like a mother, and Saddam Hussein is f—-ing his mother.”

Bush did offer up this gem in a debate with Al Gore:

“I don’t think our troops ought to be used for what’s called nation building.”

The furor over Obama saying, “If you like your plan, you can keep it”, ignores the fact that he was responding to a question about forcing people into a potential public option in 2009. There was no actual bill at the time he said that.

By 2010, HHS was issuing notice that, “plans would lose their grandfathered status if coinsurance and copayments increase more than a specified amount, for example.”

My question is, how stupid are the Republicans? They should have picked up on this, it was in the news. Instead, they focused on fictional Death Panels & hysterical warnings of Socialized Healthcare. They would have got a lot more mileage out of warning about the problem of people having their plans cancelled. Of course, most people would have been telling them to fix the problem, not repeal the whole thing.

One thing remains clear: the current GOP is not interested in fixing problems.

I’ve seen a clip of Obama and Eric Cantor discussing this very point at the big health care summit. So this was known before the bill was passed. There is really nothing here.
