The insurance people will be feeling the pain more than the people, hopefully the people with pre-existing conditions will talk a lot about how it helps them

that is because the GOP doesn’t believe in science anymore. That’s why the don’t teach Darwin’s theory and that People didn’t cause global warming

    “Obama has ruined Science jobs”

    Wow. Just wow.

With all your bare-faced lies, what do you do when you get up in the morning and look at yourself in the mirror?

    Oh, right…brush your teeth.

“Oh, right … brush your teeth.”

Yes, but avoiding flouride products, since flouride is a government plot … although some must of slipped by … not all that many teeth left.

If America had health insurance like the rest of the G8 and spent 10.5% of GDP on health care it would not have a deficit.

I agree. Now that said, why do you believe that the ACA IS comparable to the rest of the G8 HC?

The reason I ask is that with the rich, big labor, big business and politicians seeking exceptions so as to NOT have to comply – and getting them – the idea slowly emerges that perhaps this law is flawed.

Don’t be absurd. The ACA is the mess it is because it protects insurers.

“the idea slowly emerges that perhaps this law is flawed.”

Do you suppose that might be related to the fact that it was gutted and rewritten to appease the Republicans and their corporate masters? Maybe if it was in its original form, you wouldn’t be making that statement.

    Ahhhh, something we agree on…sort-of.

You notice that the headline for the article says THINKING of leaving rather than your assertion that they are indeed leaving.

Just a matter of time I suppose.

Maybe after they bring asteroids into lunar orbit, build the ship to Mars and go, refine the HIV vaccine, find more cures for various cancers and develop cold fusion…….or anti=matter reactors.

Yep, Americans have no interest in science at all.

The problem – as always – is funding. Our priorities are skewed. Rather than spending money on training and putting people to work we give them food stamps and welfare. Rather than international efforts to explore and develop our solar system gaining raw materials and room for expansion rather than the continued quest for bigger and better ways to kill each other.

Face it. One of the root problems is too many people. Either you control the population growth or you get new territory to fill.

Are we tired of killing each other yet?

Do YOU have a copy of the original?

If changes – bad ones – were made by evil republicans, why then did the democrats- and ONLY the democrats – vote for it?

Personally, I could live with a simply single payer system supported by a specific dedicated tax, but that’s just me I suppose.

    @Bruce4671

“Do YOU have a copy of the original? “

I can only hope for your sake that is a rhetorical question.

”If changes – bad ones – were made by evil republicans, why then did the democrats- and ONLY the democrats – vote for it?"

Because the Republicans played Obama as a dupe. They got want they wanted, and knew it would pass whether they voted for it or not. Take out the best parts, put in stuff to help the insurance companies, and then still not vote for it so they could blame the result on the Democrats. It also pretty much launched their stint as the most obstructive Congress in history, taking to heart McConnell’s pronouncement that making Obama a one-term president would take precedence over doing what was best for the average American. Unfortunately, Obama didn’t seem to learn from this lesson.

The Democrats, obviously, voted for it because even in its watered-down corporate-friendly form it was still an improvement over what we had, with millions of uninsured relying on the emergency rooms for their health care. In hindsight, they should have just ignored the Republicans and passed the original bill with a “simple single payer system”, but I guess they didn’t realize at that time just how low the current Republican party had sunk.

It’s not true that businesses, politicians, and unions are getting exemptions. A small number of companies got a delay. It’s not the same at all.
