Jules Feiffer has described Tony Auth best, "His perspective is that of a bemused and often angry comic historian. Irony, never a favorite form with Americans, is his meat and potatoes. He is not smug, and though he can be mean, he is never mean-spirited. Auth is a moralist and an optimist. He insists, even in this day and age, that hope is more than the name of a right-wing comedian or the shtick of a reactionary president."

Despite rightist nonsense the sad part is his main promise (to not be dumbya) is only partially fulfilled. Although President Obama has brought attempts at reconcilliation and intelligence and consideration to his actions (as opposed to the stupid ‘cowboy up’ and ‘freedom fries’ garbage and the divisive “with us or against us” ) , he hasn’t undone the evil of drones, rendition and Guantanamo.

The news story was that a hacker got into Bush’s sister’s computer and made Bush’s paintings public.
One shows Bush in the shower and another from his perspective in the bath tub.

It sounded like the first commentors had not heard the story on which the cartoon is based.

“Despite rightist nonsense the sad part is his main promise (to not be dumbya) is only partially fulfilled.”
Add to the list of drones and Gitmo, the “expired” Bush tax cuts, continuing and adding to Afghanistan, insane military spending, continuing and expanding the Patriot Act, and my personal favorite, changing the divisive nature of Washington. Libertarians (like me) call him George Bush Lite…

So we’ve found one of the few who still think Dumbya was misunderestimated and that Freedom Fries and Cowboy Up were rousing slogans for the ages of true patriots to come to the calling of their lord high masters Dick and Bush? yeehaw loveitorleaveitsolongasyoubelievitelikeidoamerika….

I think using the word Bush in that context is a bit too far, :) I know you guys don’t like him because he does believe in a functioning and value added government beyond the basics, but we agree on his not adequately slowing or reversing the ongoing erosion of the bill of rights.

A worse President than artist, which says a lot. But it’s more insight into that sociopaths mind than I, for one, would want to see. Paranoid much bushie?

I try not to criticize art, because it is in the eye of the beholder.
I am more of a craftsman. My paintings have mostly been from photographs, and most done with airbrush rather than bristles.
