How about “Rosie the Tank gunner”? Or “Rosie the Artilleryperson”? Or “Rosie the CIWS controller”? Or “Rosie the Stinger Missileer”?

AND, you have to remember that ALL members of the Military today are VOLUNTEERS! Anyone who enlists today should KNOW that there is a chance they will be going into combat.

I know some military ladies who’d be happy to raise "rightsright"’s voice a few octaves, speaking of HIS stupid version of “PC”.

As was explained on “The Rachel Maddow” show this change is not because the ladies want to kill someone, it is because the bureaucracy does not accept a combat mission, carried out by a woman, as a combat mission and therefor it does not go towards promotion, medals and so on. So if a female pilot bombs the heck out of some terrorists she does not automatically get the credit, instead it is counted like a training run because “Woman can’t be in combat missions, period!”. But some jobs in the military and national security require a combat ribbon and are therefor not accessible to woman. That is deeply, deeply unfair and I’m happy that Leon Panetta and President Obama had the wisdom and cojones to get it fixed.
