He should call his own Blue Dogs. But they would actually like to be re-elected.

Hey, believe it or not there are some South Carolinians who are not too happy with the spectacle one of their Senators made of himself.

Well, no. ANandy is not a racist. I’ve argued with him enough about the President that it would have come out. But it hasn’t. He’s a simpleton, yes, who refuses to allow in new ideas. But he’s not a racist. We should all be a bit more careful about tossing such serious accusations around.

Stole the election?! Get a clue, striper77! He won by more than 7% of the popular vote. No amount of your imagined voting fraud could have come close to accounting for that margin. You’ve got sour grapes, and nothing else. Take it to someplace where you’re not universally recognized for the boob that you are.

Let’s take score on striper’s post. The first paragraph has 6.5 lies. (People are still loosing[sic] jobs.) The second paragraph is probably a lie, although only a fool (i.e. someone working for Fox News) would want it to happen.

Third paragraph - can you imagine what would happen to one of these “playing war is fun” militia groups if they had to face the US military? Finally, the cowards are the ones hiding behind hate and lies who have flatly stated they hope the US fails because that would be a political failure for Obama.

And just as I suggested to BOB HASTY, I will caution you, striper77, to be more careful about who you call a racist. It is a serious accusation, and it is inappropriate to throw it at Justice Sotomayor or any other Obama appointee.

GNWachs and oldlegodad, as the sole reasonable conservatives on this page, will you please start denouncing the extremists like striper77? It means a lot more coming from you guys than it does from me.

I have always found calm, honest, unemotional debate to be the most productive. I have a trick I try in individual discussions. Have each side put in words the other sides debating points. Both must agree that that is what A means. Then visa versa. Once you start from a common base it makes agreeing much easier.

I am disturbed by the “racist” accusations from both sides. There are very few successful politicians who are “racist”. But the problem lies in definition. As a physician if I say melanomas “only” occur in whites or sickle cell “only” in blacks that is not racist but factual.

Sotomayor is NOT racist but she did elect to be a leader in La Rasa. The definition of La Rasa is “The Race”. Ethnic pride. Bush surrounded himself with white southerner conservatives and Obama with black liberals. Nothing even resembling racism.

Of course there is another side of the racism coin. Not being allowed to state obvious truths because of hurt feelings is akin to racism. White Men Can’t Jump. Is that racist? I think not.

La Raza is normally translated as “The People”.

tepenna, your generious, but if you’ve ever had any human relations training or experience then you’d see ANandy is a little more than a simpleton and enjoys testing the limit. His Obomaphobia is to the point he tries to portray “any difficult situation in the US” as an Obama short comming. - PS I’m sorry I fall short of your idea of what a conservative is but it’s hard to hear with all the fringe elements about.

This and precisely this is what I’ve tried to do with you multiple times — settle or at least clarify one point before moving onto the next. This and precisely this is what you have refused to do multiple times with me in the last few days alone. Won’t repeat those occasions, nor my attempts to do precisely what you wrote above.

I’ve gone beyond my normal patience level with you because you do come across as informed and intelligent in your posts, and I find it interesting to have discussions with people of opposing views.

So, GNW, your paragraph quoted above is instructive and I will leave you with a quote from Robin Williams:

God gave man a bleeep and a brain but only enough blood to run one at a time.

Won’t get involved here with your comments about getting answers to your questions because I have no idea what you mean.

On another toon I gave a detailed answer re Medicare Advantage. Did you see it?

Strippy, I call BS on you. I voted VA and it wasn’t even close. Voter fraud, try republican, my absentee almost didn’t get counted because the local repub wanted to have all the absentees validated, last minute call and would have to be done by hand, which would mean election over before validation process could even start.

GNW wrote: “There are very few successful politicians who are ‘racist’.” I assume you mean in this century, since the vast majority of politicians prior were actively racist, and it was taken for granted? Even so: Woodrow Wilson de-integrated the Federal Government, which had been a haven for educated blacks since the Grant administration, and practically made it policy. Or more recently? Nixon had his Southern Strategy, which was explicitly aimed at white Southerners to detach them from the Democrats and make up for the loss of black votes Reagan used “states rights,” a typical “code term” for resistance to federal desegregation efforts, in a speech at the Neshoba County Fair in Mississippi, near where three civil rights workers were murdered in 1964, which was widely interpreted as an appeal to the Southern Strategy George HW Bush ran ads which implicitly made out Dukakis to be less white (Saturday Night Live did a hilarious exaggeration of these) and of course the Willie Horton ads And of course George Wallace openly went racist. And Jesse Helms attacked “racial quotas” with an ad showing a white hand crumpling a letter indicating he had lost a job because he was white. (I grew up in NC). All very successful. Racism in this country is, sadly, often a successful strategy if you can count on more voting for you than against you. Now people are referring to Mexican immigrants in “racial” terms.
