Jules Feiffer has described Tony Auth best, "His perspective is that of a bemused and often angry comic historian. Irony, never a favorite form with Americans, is his meat and potatoes. He is not smug, and though he can be mean, he is never mean-spirited. Auth is a moralist and an optimist. He insists, even in this day and age, that hope is more than the name of a right-wing comedian or the shtick of a reactionary president."

Auth hits the target- could we be trying out the peace, love, & understanding thing? Simple truths- what a weapon….

How can they continue to hate a country who elected a leader with the name of Barack Hussein Obama???
brad.galloway said, 5 months ago
It’s going to take years to get them to even trust us again, much less stop hating. Just like racism won’t stop until the older generations go away and the newer generations aren’t being raised under it.
Well, it’ll never truly go away, but that’s a different discussion. After all that’s been done on both sides, it’s going to take a lot more than Obama, though I believe he may be on the right track.

The fact is that words, and communication, are more powerful weapons than cannons.(or Hellfire missiles) The words used by the Bush administration were no different than the ones who drove men to fly airplanes into buildings. Carpet bombing two nations is hardly a defensible reaction to a small group’s attack on two towers; especially when one country didn’t know where bin Laden was either (Where IS he Dick?), and the other had absolutely NOTHING to do with the attack.

“If you really have difficulty in your’ mind seperating all Muslims from one another it may by now be be due to conditioning, after all the 911 hijackings were conducted by Saudis and Iraq eventually was blamed by the neocons, unfortunately the GOP likes to blur the details endlessly…………….to their benefit of course. But close Bush family ties to the Saudi royal family have never been denied, they’re much too well documented. Turn off the right wing propaganda for a little while and think about others as actual human beings…..”

We are on the right track, but still hampered by Guantanamo and the seemingly endless military occupation of Iraq. I long for the day we ween ourselves off oil so we can completely withdraw from the region forever.
