    Versus Cheney, Rummy, et al who KNEW they were lying and said, “So what?” Hmmm, Reagan also said he didn’t know nuthin’ ‘bout Iran/Contra- that was Cheney and Rumsfeld as well. Might be a pattern?

    Why is it that Pelosi, who at the time was the junior member of the “briefed group”, is the one getting the heat? What about 1) Sen. Shelby 2) Sen Graham and 3) Congressman Goss (later director of the CIA)? Why didn’t they exert some oversight?

    Yes, she does seem overly flustered for someone who is speaking truthfully.

    If she did lie about it then at the very least lose her speaker position if not her seat.

    Much of this Pelosi controversy is a thinly veiled attempt to get her ousted as Speaker of the House. I certainly think Pelose has done a self-serving job here, but the dems put her there and should be courageous enough to oust her openly!!

    Actually, the reason she’s speaking out is BECAUSE of all the attention. And all the attention is the shiny keys to distract you from one simple fact:

    The Bush Administration approved the use of torture as a means to get false information to start and continue a false war, a war crime under United States law and International Law.

    But, please, continue to focus on Pelosi, right wingers, and admit that you are easily distracted by the “OOOH! Look over here! Don’t look over there! Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.”

    And lack of reading comprehension rears its ugly head once again. SHE isn’t the one trying to distract; the media and the right wing are. She is merely RESPONDING to such attacks. I wish she would shut up, personally, because she’s falling for the “Let’s blame Pelosi for everything” meme and further perpetrating it by responding to such lunacy.

    On Pelosi’s role in the meetings, not whether she is being used as a distraction by the Right.
