Jules Feiffer has described Tony Auth best, "His perspective is that of a bemused and often angry comic historian. Irony, never a favorite form with Americans, is his meat and potatoes. He is not smug, and though he can be mean, he is never mean-spirited. Auth is a moralist and an optimist. He insists, even in this day and age, that hope is more than the name of a right-wing comedian or the shtick of a reactionary president."

Might be some merit in the lead statement. However Gov Palin is not who I would like to do the representing!

So a viciously ambitious, ignorant and narrow-minded evangelical beauty queen with a gun represents Joe Six-Pack? Be afraid, be very afraid.
Machado said, about 1 year ago
I’m more afraid of an Anti-American Socialist “community organizer” seating in the WH.
motivemagus said, about 1 year ago
Get real. Obama is as American as it gets – you think he could have gone this far in any other country in the world? And he knows it.
And funny how the Republicans who have been pushing for more “community organizers” (so government can do less) have suddenly turned on Obama doing just that.
Socalist - ha. I defy you to find any graduate of Harvard Law School from the past fifty years who was a genuine Socialist.

Fortunately, Mach…none of that’s true about Obama.

Hopefully Joe Six-pack is smart enough to know that any Joe Six-pack isn’t smart enough to be in the WH.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HAVING AN INTELLIGENT PRESIDENT?!?!?!?!

What? I know people who drink a six-pak of beer every day and they can’t even function after 7 p.m. What! Drinking a six-pak a day is a good thing?

“Jester:Fortunately, Mach…none of that’s true about Obama.”
Maybe in your “cartoon world” but we are talking the real world here….
Check the facts, Presidential Candidates don’t come any more anti-american than this un-qualify flunky, from maligning American troops to putting down America at every turn, even in a foreign land, to associating with known Racists,(Wright),domestic terrorist (Ayers)and preaching Socialism from the stump…
If this Flunky is ever elected expect tumultuous years ahead……

So Mach… what EXACTLY is his connection to Ayers?
motivemagus said, about 1 year ago
Seems to me that class warfare is pretty anti-American, and McCain’s on that like white on rice. And the Ayers thing is a red herring. When he was doing his thing, Obama was eight. Yeah, that’s pretty impressive – an eight-year-old anarchist. Frankly, if he were that accomplished, I’d vote for him anyway!

Care to explain that incorrect comment? Obama is the one blaming “the rich” for everything wrong with this country. THAT is class warfare, give an example of McCain promoting class warfare…if you can.
Sparkadelic said, about 1 year ago
An example of McCain’s class warfare: tax cuts that take from the poor and give to the rich - as corroborated by every nonpartisan evaluation conducted of the competing proposals being pushed by the two campaigns. Warfare doesn’t get much more simple than that. Of course, Republicans call it class warfare when you POINT OUT the warfare they’re busy conducting.

It seems Mach that all you have here is to say that I’m, ‘living in the cartoon world’ and then repeat what you said.
We all heard you the first time…and it’s still bogus.
lalas said, about 1 year ago
Mach – MAYBE you’ll answer this one. How did he malign the troops? Maybe you’re confusing his opposition to the TACTIC of bombing villages where civilians are being killed with the notion that he’s saying our troops are to blame for that?
