Conservatives still fault Obama for not capturing Khattala much sooner. Bin Laden was promptly captured & brought to justice.. Ahh… nevermind. (I know, I know. I’m not supposed to talk about Obama’s predecessor because it’s ancient history, like Nero & Caligula.)

They’re angry that Khatalla will be tried in a civil court, because he’ll plead the Fifth. Usually the problem with terrorists in courtrooms isn’t getting them to talk, it’s getting them to shut up.

They say Khatalla should be held at Guantanamo where he can be tortured closely questioned, while bashing Obama for failing to close the prison.

Seriously, maybe it’s time to congratulate the people in Intelligence & Special Forces that did a good job.

The “right” will only be happy, judging from the ones here, when over 1.5 BILLION folks are killed because a PORTION of roughly 16 million from a portion of the tribe of Semites have the GOP, ’er excuse me, “God” (the same ones Muslims adhere to) is on “their” side.

Considering all the hate generated by these folks, you’d think there was a better way? While not perfect, Buddhists, Jains, and many “primitive” religions, have done far better. Like, oh, just realizing that there IS an “unexplained” force in the universes, far more powerful than ANY “Man” can actually identify, without form, or demands for sacrifice, or war, might be a start, instead of anthropomorphizing a human appearing deity, made in OUR image, not the other way around for most of the adherents.

A very good post. But it might even do my fellow Christians some good to remember that it was Christ himself that stated “Love thine enemies!”For quite frankly, just what good does it do us to love those that already love us anyway? Would that not be a given?

    “Love thine enemies!”

A most admirable trait and should be practiced by all, but radical Islamists have a different viewpoint. Convert or die.

dtroutma: Or for that matter, remember the Second and Third German Empires with all those belt buckles saying "Gott mit uns (God is on our side).

Jesus was also a pacifist. Please enlighten us as to how that justifies the countless humans that have died in his name. There is really nothing different between Islam and Christianity in that regard. People kill people. It ain’t god’s fault.

“The R’s denied funds for proper security.”

Charlene Lamb, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Programs in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security at the Department of State, testified that financing of security was not a problem as concerned security in Benghazi.

“how can there be a ringleader when it was just a mob upset because of a video??”

Even Hillary Clinton is not perpetuating that viewpoint.

Jesus was a traditional liberal nor a modern one. He would be described more accurately as “libertarian” in modern political vernacular.
    .
The modern liberal takes from one person and gives to another, Jesus advocated to GIVE of YOURSELF (and of your wealth) to others VOLUNTARILY.
    .
Charity at gunpoint has no virtue.

Yes. By focusing on something of minimal relevance to the Benghazi scandal (I had no doubt that some of the attackers would be caught, although I thought it would happen sooner), Toles demonstrates that he is the one who lacks “nuance.”

Have faith. Obama has fouled up everything else he’s done in office, he’ll screw this up too.
