The budget for sabotage is way too low. Republicans are spending most of their time sabotaging the ACA.

    Ha! Good toon Tom!
Funny how Congress is giving high fives for completing a budget that will sink us into an even bigger hole.

A truly bipartisan deal, the Ryan-Murray budget represents the first time in a long time the H of R have acted anything like the legislature of a nation rather than a collection grandstanding self-important narcissists who would rather sink the ship of state than see it head in any other direction but the one they command. Truly, a deal no one can love: exactly what was needed. But never fear! There are still enough spoiled brats in the Senate to stop it.

Glad to see it. I wonder if Boehner telling the tea types to go screw themselves (more or less) finally made it possible to get a budget passed.

Mostly it requires Boehner allowing something to be brought to a vote. It’s his personal obstruction that keeps propositions that are known to have sufficient votes to be passed from being voted on. Hard to be sure, but it looks like he’s still sitting on those.

He forgot crying, whining, and the dreaded “I’m rubber, you’re glue” intellectual debate!

“Mostly it requires Boehner allowing something to be brought to a vote.”

I think you may have Boehner and Reid confused.

Unfortunately, Toles’ cartoon only applies to the days they actually work! And I don’t count “pro forma” sessions as being at work.

The change in the filibuster rule only applies to non-SCOTUS executive appointments. But yes, if 60 senators agree, it can be brought to a vote, and it will win.

I’m sorry you missed it, but Democrats have already raised the tax rate of the “rich” back to those of the Clinton years.

Ummm. yeah, that went into effect just this year. Many of those affected won’t actually see the difference until they do their taxes next year.

Conservatives predicted our economy would go back into severe recession. Don’t hold your breath.

^And when I say, “they do their taxes”, I mean the CPA/Attorneys spend every moment until October 15th, finding loopholes for the investing class. As Neoconman has said, “Only little people pay taxes on April 15th… or ever if possible.”

Budgets are created by congress. But that’s okay; I realize you know next to nothing about how government works.
