While all the D-Baggers can give America is scandal after scandal after scandal. Until the Left can stop demolishing America I’ll never stop saying no to their policies.
BTW – new report out that record food stamp use in a new record. You want people to say YES to that???

Unfortunately there weren’t enough wastebaskets when that garbage Obama(non)-Care was passed.
So when again do our insurance premiums go down?

The GOP is dong the things that are so negative and regressive that more people are being turned in more pro-gressive and more fair.
The people of the GOP are making threats of revenge. go to some place that is not right-wing and do a little research.

The GOP has moved so far to the right that, in their eyes, ultra-conservatives are now moderates; conservatives are now Liberals and Moderates are now Commies.
It’s a ridiculous POV, and the end result is that they have become The Party of Ridiculous.
Hey, Moderate Republicans, come and join the Democratic Party! We’d welcome you. We’re not all ultra-Liberals (despite what the far right might say), and you could help create an even bigger Democratic Party tent.
Why stay with a party that holds you in contempt?

    Gary, quite agree.

As a foreigner, I maintain that the penultimate conservative party on the planet is the USA Democrats. They are only beaten by the Republicans. (I will allow that there are other religious fundamentalist parties elsewhere that are vying for the position, but they are well short of funds and dedication.)

They are fully stocked with with most of the remaining man-made climate change deniers, as well as creationists, and are costing the USA in terms of prestige.

It is one of the reasons the world is turning towards aligning with progressive governments that have sound understanding in technology and science, such as the Chinese. Lots to criticise about them, but everyone agrees that things there are many times better than they were a generation ago – and are very steadily improving. Can the same be said for the USA?

“So when again do our insurance premiums go down?”

As soon as your state wholeheartedly implements the law. Take a look at the news from California. If by “our” you mean all your fellow Americans and not just yourself.

The insurance premiums of many people have already gone down because of the new law (such as young adult job-seekers who are getting that insurance through their parents instead of trying to buy individual policies) and, and many more have gotten insurance who previously could not.

Of course, for some people the premiums may go up, and some deadbeats will be now paying premiums who previously gambled with the taxpayers’ money by not carrying insurance and then going to publicly-backed ERs and other expensive care centers when they need it. (Which often means not only expensive care, but futile care delivered too late. And thus the last point:)
Perhaps you have no seen the research estimating the the number of thousands of lives that the ACA will save each year.

You know, if a party advocated national security policies that would surely result in the death of 10,000 Americans annually, that party wouldn’t last long. But let a part advocate heath policies that would result in the death of 10,000 Americans annually, and no one blinks an eye. Why?

The Ds and Rs create scandals in nearly equal quantity. Both parties are living up to Geo Washington’s warning that political parties would divide and weaken the nation. He also warned about allowing money to have influence in the electoral system as did Eisenhower. Both parties are, not demolishing America, but allowing it to fall apart one bridge, road, and child at a time.
Also, as a one time recipient of food stamps during Jimmy Carter’s financial crisis, I will say yes to the use of food stamps. With food banks and church kitchens running short of funds and resources, Americans need help. There is weekly video of rural, suburban, and urban populations of all races having to resort to soup kitchens and other help in order to feed their families.
However – I also feel we need more oversight on the subsidies of food and money we provide. Whether to families or corporations, our gov’t gives out more money than it should and ofttimes to people who are just playing the system. We need more inspectors, regulators, auditors, and efficiency experts to make sure our money is not being wasted, defrauded, or otherwise abused by people who feel ‘entitled’, whether by poverty or wealth.

Lest you forget, what you call Obamacare was thought up and championed by Republicans during the Clinton Administration. You hate it now for the sole reason that Obama took up the cause.

As for your insurance premiums, if you had actually read the act, you’d know. If your health insurance company spends more than 20% of your insurance premiums on “overhead” costs, they must refund the difference. If you receive your insurance through the company you work for, they will most likely receive said refund and will see the lowered premiums.

Thanks for your comments, and if my reply sounds harsh, please forgive me. Who knows what the results of our various party squabbles will be. But I’m not sure the Chinese are the example we should emulate. Please allow me a short rant. It’s not directed toward you, but this has been on my mind a long time.
If you take away the thin modern veneer of consumer glitter, the Chinese are about where the U.S. was in the early Twentieth Century as far as industry. As the U.S. was then they have become very materialistic, desperate to impress other countries with their status, their cities badly polluted, their philosophy more militaristic and expansionist. Although the Chinese invented many things such as gunpowder and printing, their culture became bound in bureaucracy and their advantages was lost. Now they have returned to the world stage with a vengeance.
They are catching up with Great Leaps Forward, having perfected the concept so the results aren’t as deadly — at least on the surface. As an analogy, whereas before they had become herbivores, now they are omnivores and carnivores. They get their scientific nutrition through scavenging and opportunism. As far as progressive, how soon the world forgets — until the last generation the Chinese were just the opposite. In order to make a cake, I guess you have to break eggs, But during the last century, the Chinese broke tens of millions in the course of “land reform,” political suppression, starvation due to government policies, the Cultural Revolution, and labor camps. And most likely they led the world in abortions performed. And population re-locations continue today, in the name of Progress.
The Chinese culture, what remains of it, is to be admired in its millennia of complexity. But the present society, with government misguidance and hard pride, is going in the wrong direction. It is lain in a Procrustean bed. It is consumerism taken to the extreme, and serves as a bad example to us all. Except, some see it as a good example. And it won’t improve if this continues, because there are just too many people there, and they are increasingly expectant that they will live like Westerners. The Chinese are gardening with new unproven cultural techniques, and they see a lot of weeds to be pulled. Some of those weeds are other societies.

I’ve met people on more than one occasion that I’ve asked why don’t they use their money that they use for cable, Internet, cell phones, etc to buy food? They ALWAYS say why should they do that? That’s what food stamps are for!
We’ve got the cushiest poor people in the world!
    Corrected for ya…
