The 1st panel makes sense. If the partisan bickering could just stop and they could lay out the cards on the table And say “I will give you this, if you give me that”

Unfortunately, the second panel makes sense. What the Republicans have stated they really want is for Obama to fail. So there’s no way.

Its the Republicans that are failing, they have the lowest polls.

Also unfortunately, the polls show they are not smart enough to give up a bad policy.

The 112th Congress failed miserably in its effort to make President Obama a one-term president; however, the 113th and 114th Congresses are absolutely guaranteed to ensure that he is never again re-elected!!! So they are achieving and will certainly achieve their goal!!!

The only bargain I want is return to the 70+% tax rates on the rich from the 1960’s, return to the estate tax on the rich, return of the Glass Steagall act, finally getting universal healthcare like other countries have, strong short leashes for wall street, the banks and the corporations, overturn of “citizens united”, overturning all antichoice laws and regulations, hauling the thieves of wall street into court to be tried for their massive financial crimes and sending cheney/shrub/rumsfeld to the world court to be tried for their many egregious war crimes.

And now Paul Ryan wants to replace Obamacare with “patient centered” health care. A name change? Or another voucher plan? Rhetoric does not a plan make.

Same old, same old. Let’s screw the taxpayers and give more money to big companies.

The cartoon expresses an ideal that seems unachievable under current election rules. The “retirement” pkgs legislators get after they leave Washington just add insult to injury. An entertainer stated a couple of years ago that the democrats had become Reagan “Republicans” and the GOP had become insanely conservative. that’s the polite way to put it anyway. Had more real liberals not been so disappointed by Mr. Obama’s failure to be a true liberal president, the results of the 2010 elections would have been vastly different; and, had the GOP been more moderate and inclusive, the results of the 2012 election would have also been vastly different. In their efforts to appeal to narrow bases, both parties are failing the majority of their people and in doing so, create division among some, and apathy among others.
    Respectfully,
    C.

What the Republicans REALLY want is everything they demand, and for the Democrats to get nothing!
And, they are willing to totally nuke the economy to get it, too!

As long as Republicans understand that what O means is ‘we don’t care what you want, it’s what we want is what matters’.

The republican morons just don’t get it that they are the biggest threat to our country, not Al Qaeda. I can’t wait for President Obama to declare the tea party enemy combatants.

Whereas I agree with everything you wrote, you apparently aren’t aware that President is a Socialist, Marxist, Communist, and any other “-ist” the rightwingers can accuse him of being. If only we could get the whole of America to see it as you stated, and then keep them intelligently engaged maybe we could get the government we deserve.
