Well the Center for Cyber Security is working over time to not only stop it but to give some back to the Chinese hackers.

Bush, Jr was of an older generation. He diverted trillions to Haliburton and other Friends of his Administration, trillions totally justified by the Iraq War: Since the US was attacked by 19 Arab Muslims, the US has the absolute right to vengeance against every Arab, whether Muslim or not, and against every Muslim, whether Arab or not (and also Sikhs, because they wear turbans just like Arab Muslims, making them just as guilty), so the Iraq war was totally justified (only all the money was contractually obligated to Friends of Bush, Jr, so there was nothing left for President Obama and his Friends, hence nothing left to do but withdraw from Iraq so the money could be spent where it would end up in the correct pockets).
As a member of the new generation, some of the Friends of the Obama administration are in Cybersecurity. Those few of us who survived the arrival of the year 2000 remember the horrible disasters caused by the Y2K bug, and the Chinese are capable of replicating each and every one of those disasters, so we definitely need to give trillions to those Friends of the Obama administration who will protect the US from those Chinese Cyberterrorists and another horrible Y2K experience with electric plants destroyed and no electricity, dams shut off and horrible flooding, cars stopping and planes falling from the sky, exactly the same as what happened at midnight when the year 2000 began.

And will leak their deep dark secrets, love affairs, dirty money donors, etc. Only when there is danger to the congress-critters will they do anything.

Thanks to the republicans who outsourced millions of manufacturing jobs to China we now have to reap the whirlwind of Chinese hackers. Thanks republicans for creating the Chinese Dragon that is destroying our computer systems.

“Thanks to the republicans who outsourced millions of manufacturing jobs to China…”
♦
The outsourcing of manufacturing jobs has little to do with politics but a lot to do with the cost of manufacturing a product. Neither Republicans nor Democrats that owned factories would willingly relocate said factory for any reason except for economic reality. If your competitor is marketing a product that does the same thing as yours and is selling it and half your price, you need to figure out a way to be competitive. If that means having the product manufactured in China (or Kazakhstan or Mozambique etc.) then that’s what you do. In this sense, a corporation is like a person. It wants to survive.

“outsourcing … has little to do with politics” It has everything to do with politics. As long as the tax codes encourage sending jobs to a lower cost geography for greater quarterly profits, corporations will do so. This is another effect of the horrid self destructive Citizens United decision, as long as they can lobby with impunity the codes will not change and the middle class will bear the load.

Well since millions of dollars and thousands of Man Hours stopped the majority of problems from the Y2K error.

@Omnius
Just don’t forget the Democrats who also sent jobs overseas.

@mikefive
There is a financial incentive to short changer workers here to go to poorer nations to do the same work, not as well, and for less money, but the cost of the product remains the same.

Ahh I agree. Is there a plan in there somewhere?

I love how this comes up as the righties are saying “let the Post office die! Who needs it anymore anyway what with the advent of the internet and e-mail?”
.
A company I work with has a big push to do all the client work over e-mail. No more paper statements or order confirmations!
.
Sure, let’s trust all of this to the same internet that the Chinese are hacking and the government can intercept and copy at anytime. What the heck? Why not? What could possibly go wrong?
.
You want a safe internet, you’ll have to pay e-mail postage…
.
Just like if you want safe credit card transactions you’ll have to subscribe to LifeLock or some other service. (it started out being the reason one would use a credit card or travellers checks, it was safer than cash “Don’t leave Home without it!” now it’s “be careful where you use it because you’re at risk out there, and we can’t catch fraud unless you report it, so….”
