Just read his “rant”. If they put powerlines underground they would be protected from ice, vandals and tree limbs. The big long distance transmission lines are relatively safe on their big ugly steel towers. Bury everything else.

See youtube videos electric arcs for some scary powerlines having temper tantrums.

Good luck to Egypt with their “democracy”.

^^I like that. I saved it to favorites to see if that is a weekly column.

Are the ones on the other side the Egyptian leaders pushing on the rope?

The rope/cable doesn’t go straight across. It’s going to slide to the corner, and then they’re in for it.

In the Middle East Democracy is a total Oxymoron. Between Corruption, Religion, and just contrainess its a wonder anything gets done.

Hmm. Now why would that be? Oil money, perhaps?

A long time ago, a western democracy was something unheard of and against the dominant religion, too.

    Have faith in mankind.

I share my internet access with them. Most useful thing I did this week.

I think Toles has hit upon a beautiful symbol of an uprising of the disinfranchised and marginalized. Lovely! Thank you…

Works fine for Turkey and Israel.

    Anyway, great toon!

LLRAY: I know this is slightly OT, but where do you get your information? I worked for Comcast for 8 years. While underground cable is expensive to put in, it does NOT break just as often. Aside from earthquakes and accidental digging (very rare and relatively rare respectively), underground cable is very stable. Or do you think they go through the extra expense to put it in just for aesthetics?

I shared this cartoon with the Egyptian and Iranian resistance through Facebook.

I’m surprised Omq R isn’t commenting on what’s going on in Cairo right now. Seems like western culture is causing the youth to go against the established Totalitarian Government there. Its a bit of a war zone in there. The way the kids got mobilized was through the internet and the authorities have shut it down.

If you’re out there Omq R I’d like to get your opinion on the matter.
