Think industry is gonna cut their polluting practices because a few nerds (scientist) think its bad for the enviornment? If you do I’ve a bridge to sell you.

Scaled back? How about the truth has seen the light of day and they are slinking back. The climate is changing, people are waking up and seeing the chicken little water is rising preachers were just wrong. “Climate change” is as about as scary as winter turning into spring. Now we need to get back to reality and make sure the tax cap and trade the plunder never has a chance to ruin the USA.

If everyone is really so concerned with rising water levels, why are property prices along coasts still so high? Why do some of the elites who push this nonsense own such expensive properties right on the ocean. I really pity the mind that is captivated by ecological fear…it is a pathetic charade that no one really believes.

Actions speak louder than words. Where you invest your money is what you really believe.

“But if tax cap and trade the plunder gets shoved up our @ $$ he will be in a position to be a billionaire.”

    • Are you sure Cap & Trade is a “Climate Change” idea? Some leading Republicans have been for Cap & Trade, it’s even considered an extreme right Capitalist ideal so … is “extreme right” into Climate Change?

So you want to blame the 8 repugs that were bought off to pass the tax cap and trade the plunder? Works for me vote them out! along with the Dems that voted for it. They are: Mary Bono Mack (Calif.), Mike Castle (Del.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Leonard Lance (N.J.), Frank LoBiondo (N.J.), John McHugh (N.Y.), Dave Reichert (Wash.), Chris Smith (N.J.).

by the way they were paid off and 44 dems voted against it.

There is near universal consensus among scientists about the continuing and increasing affects of anthropogenic climate change. There may be some debate about the extent and the timing of the various affects, but that is merely because of the many variables in the system. This is not some small group of nerds who think they’ll get rich on environmental policy. This is no path to fame and fortune.

Property values are property values, completely irrelevant to the issue because people don’t have a good sense of what is going on. Land is vanishing in the most sensitive low-lying seacoast habitats, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be building an ark any time soon (though some new housing has been built in the Netherlands so that they’ll float when the waters rise).

It is only a “charade that nobody really believes” because nobody is sufficiently educated on the very real issues. We’re getting our news from sources that do not sufficiently present the realities of the science involved, and we’re perpetuating a culture that is suspicious of science and dismissive of intelligence overall.

We’ll be tuning up our violins as Rome burns.

The real fear at work here is those people who fear that their way of life is threatened by a real and responsible response to the environmental damage we’ve done to our one home planet. As long as we think we stand to lose money, our big-ass cars, our “standard of living”, our giant screen TVs, then we’ll fight tooth and nail against dealing with the shit-hole we’re creating all around us…

    • I do not see McCain on this list. He was a strong advocate for it during the campaign.

from RealClimate.org (run by real climate scientists, who have put their data up publicly - answer the question of put up or shut up rather firmly): Second CRU inquiry reports @ 14 April 2010 “The Oxburgh report on the science done at the CRU has now been published and….. as in the first inquiry, they find no scientific misconduct, no impropriety and no tailoring of the results to a preconceived agenda, though they do suggest more statisticians should have been involved. They have also some choice words to describe the critics.”

“They were paid off.” Amazing how easily someone can dismiss the errors of their own party. Partisanship is the real problem.
