Well, based on the results I’ve seen on TV, the PARTY OF NO is on the rise.
Having no plans, or ideas, and just attacking works, so don’t expect them to change.

What’s all that bleeep behind the Donkey? A lie detector for my grandma?
We don’t need any ideas…Not one Republican vote necessary for passage.

It’s modern medical technology to be applied to American health. As opposed to “two aspirin.”

How about studying the Swiss plan and borrowing from it all the ideas that WORK? How about removing the barriers that prevent insurance companies from competing across state lines? How about focusing on covering ONLY people earning less than 30k a year (30k or above, employers are either providing health care OR the person could afford to buy it). How about we stop being mindless sheep–prey animals–fed upon by a predatory government?
How about you leftist mules stop braying in unison with your donkey goddesses and push for something that WORKS, instead of your Socialist “single payer” bleeep that will cripple our economy and throw 1000s of working poor into such miserable poverty through increased payroll taxes they’ll probably just quit working entirely and suck off Medicaid?
Sheople, anyway…

Close, The dems have a few plans, all thousands of pages and a couple of pounds of paper. The R has 3 different plans out there all three are under 200 pages.
If the devil is in the details and this is to be the “new age of transparency” I wonder who is trying to fool who? Plus The R’s plan was written by them. The D plan was written by the far left and adopted by that old rich hippy lady of the house.

Scott & HQ:
You seem to be against your own self-interest.
You appear to be against the 1st commandment. Your concern for your fellow humans is pathetic. I feel sorry for you when your insurance company calls you a liar, and refuses to pay for the medical care you thought you were buying.
I feel sorry for anyone who has such little compassion for those people who have gone bankrupt just because their health care went way past the caps insurarers placed on their coverage. 70% of the people who go bankrupt because of health care bills actually had been buying health insurance their entire lives.
But “love of money” and “screw the neighbor” appear to be your life goals!
Scott still hasn’t read his scripture assignments!!!

Hey bob what does that have to do with the price of beans? You are telling me you are going to trust a bill that took 3 lbs of paper print and is full of lawyer speak or maybe just maybe the simpler versions written in plain English.
If you think the Insurance companies have “bad” clauses have you ever had to sign a 2000 page disclaimer in order to get coverage?

When I’m dealing with either a private company or a government agency/program, I know that I will have some degree of inefficiency to contend with. Depending on the day of the week, I may be faced with a person of limited intelligence or competence. I may even have to negotiate with a person who just doesn’t give a damn. But in my dealings over the years with any number of government employees in all sorts of circumstances, I have never had to deal with one whose paycheck and bonus program was based on screwing me. I can’t say the same for private business.

Didn’t California do that?

fbrewer is afraid of “profit” oh me oh my. Someone wants to provide a service and turn a profit. That is now a sin? The problem with your logic is that oh lets see Medicare is bleeding money in the billions. Billions that the tax papers pay for and they do not have to account for, they do not have to turn a profit they can operate at a loss, our loss of money. A private company that does not make it’s 2% profit margin might go out of business if they do not serve their customers.
So what do you fear? A private company that makes you sign a 100 page contract spelled out and hopefully gone over by your lawyer. Or do you want to trust a company that makes you sign a 2000 page contract that is filled with sub section 3 refer to page 302 in according to section 10021 that allocates money in party in section 5. Written by political groups and only one side of the isle stuffing it full of their own pet projects.
fbrewer said, 17 days ago
@HQ - I have no quarrel with a private company making a profit. Unless they intend to do it by cheating me. There are lots of them out there who do exactly that. Health insurance companies are real high on that list.
There are thousands of people dying every year because they can’t get health insurance. That’s CAN’T. Not don’t, not don’t want to, not don’t need it. Yet the reactionary dogs-in-the-manger shout, “I got mine. The rest of you chumps can just go pound sand.”
You accuse me of fearing this and that. Seems to me you’re the one with the fear. Fear that you might actually have to be inconvenienced by a society that tries to keep people from dying. Instead of living off of other taxpayers’ generosity, you might have to be responsible for your small part of the entire society. Boo hoo. How you suffer.

WOW fb hit all the fear mongering talking points but “it is for the children” Ok I will play your game. This bill is for all the 5 million who can not get proper health care? Do not give me the over blown 30 million that is full of those who can and illegals. That number is about as actuate as the “save and create” number.
So you want to overhaul the best health care system in the world for 5 million? You want to shove 2000 pages of musts on the health care industry for 5 million?
And you still have not answered my question wich would you rather sign a 2000 page of decisions that are made for you or a 100 page contract that is for you?

We need health care reform because people are going broke paying for health care and a lot of hard working people just can’t afford it. Every other industrialized nation has health care that is very affordable or even, free.

i’ll always trust that a private company will treat me with the utmost respect, not like i was born a second ago.
because i believe in a place of perfect markets. where constant competition squeezes any unnecessary profits from sellers because, instantly, a new company will emerge that will hit the sweet spot price point for me, the almighty consumer. here in the land where cornering a market has no advantages, no backroom deals, no kickbacks for favors. i live in a place where it is super easy to quit my job and, even quicker still, get a new job that has my perfect heath care plan.
and these beatific companys would never get in bed with bad old government and keep other companies from making the same thing loads cheaper, because, i mean, who would then have the money to make those lovely, soothing tv commercials for those pretty pills that i need. they make me feel so good …

I think HQ is Glenn Beck in drag.
Let me get this straight. Because the bill is a thousand pages your head starts getting dizzy so two hundred pages is much easier to read because all it says is no health care?
Its like those three sheets of toilet paper that Bush sent the congress that basically said “give me the F-N money”.
Also if you want to sell beans, more power to ya, but my health should not be something I have to pay a premium on.

d_ you will be paying one way or another. I want to pay on my terms not the governments left wing back room deals of a plan. One spawned from left wing Marxism socialist dreaming dependency breeding then adopted by the rich old hippy grandma in the house
And i am referring to the 3 R plans. You know the ones the D’s are screaming that they do not have.
d_legendary1 said, 16 days ago
@ HQ You mean the ones that the R’s are using to rip the D’s plan? The ones that protect big business? Me personally I’d rather deal with the government than a private entity. At least I can protest the government peacefully. If I did that in front of Blue double Cross and Blue broken Shield they’d throw me in jail for trespassing or disturbing the peace.
I want health care PERIOD. And not one that’s gonna require me to work three jobs so that I can buy a promise that they will cover me in bad times since that’s the whole notion behind insurance. Note that i said promise, not a guarantee. BCS always talks about rescinding practices all the time so that’s why I don’t want my health in the hands of an entity who has a team of lawyers who are ready to dispute my claim to life.

“Do not give me the over blown 30 million that is full of those who can and illegals.”
HQ, how many times were you asked to prove that claim that the current bill would spend money providing free/subsidized healthcare to illegals? Not often enough, I guess.
“The problem with your logic is that oh lets see Medicare is bleeding money in the billions. Billions that the tax papers pay for and they do not have to account for, they do not have to turn a profit they can operate at a loss, our loss of money.”
You know one reason why Medicare is not turning a profit? Because unlike its direct private competitors in Medicare Advantage, it does not have “administrative expenses” in the 10%s and 20%s of its entire budget. If it were allowed to be as “efficient” as private insurers are, and take as many money as they do* it could be in the green. Would that make you happy, HQ?
*: the best part is that Medicare is dealing with the elderly. These are the people that are most likely to need healthcare, and thus the worst market segment for any insurer.
fbrewer said, 16 days ago
I’ve read the Republican proposal for health care. HQ is right. It’s nice and short. And even better, I can summarize it in just a couple of sentences. How convenient can you get?
1] Don’t get sick.
2] If you do get sick, buy some aspirin with the money in your HSA.
3] If that doesn’t work, go away.

I sure hope that neither democrats or republicans are trying to re-write health care, republican or democrat doesnt make one a Doctor.
