I guess Congress is exempt from criticism since the critters therein are already whores and don’t pay taxes and want, nay, NEED to pass the buck.
It is right out in the open on all the C-Span channels so hiding the camera is moot.
Besides, the critters are prostrating (prostituting?) themselves for the camera time.

The concept you are flailing to understand is this is a non partisanship revenue neutral way of collecting taxes. If the Tax was a simple as the fair tax what would the people on K street lobby to change?

we tried a “flat tax” and all that it got us was a phone book sized loop hole book. K street wrote most of that book and the IRS useing the carrot and stick, cat and mouse games there in to collect the taxes.

I didn’t throw the class card out there. You did. But now that its out you fail to understand that rich people don’t get their money from income but rather capital gains. Even if you stuck with the fair tax it would not include capital gains since that is considered an asset, not income. The only ones who would be penalized for this is the average American. Sure everybody would pay the same, but we most certainly don’t earn the same.
So you are in favor of getting rid of the government’s money supply because we all know that government is the problem, not the solution? Well then kiss the fire departments, police stations, education systems, roads, and all those things you take for granted good bye. You probably think none of us deserve these things in the first place.

If “Fair Tax” = “Consumption Tax” then I am all for it.
NOT “Ad Valorem” which is much too vulnerable to abuses.
Also the legislation MUST include the repeal of the Income Tax.
A Consumption tax will tax EVERYONE equally, rich and poor. What is fairer than that?

Bill – consumption tax is regressive. It requires the poor to use a larger percentage of their income to pay taxes and a much smaller percentage for the rich. Ask any accountant/mathematician…. percentage is the only real number for comparisons.
One thing NONE of you has addressed is benefit derived from society. You act as though people get rich in a vacuum. Well… they don’t, therefore they owe something back to society for enabling them so luxuriously wealthy. If you can get rich without a society, then you owe nothing to society, until then…

Class warfare is the point. Obama used it to a T in the “only the top 5%” stick. The fundamental flaw in that is this is the USA not some class us vs them society. New millionaires make them self every day. And not by “exploiting” society but through honest hard work.
If you tie the Government income with the GPD then you are not “starving” it you a taming a spoiled child. Speak what you will but W only increased our dept to GNP slightly, Obama on the other hand plans on uping our dept over 100% or Gross National income.
Plus letting those who earn their money keep their there will be more for risk and investment. With that the nation will make more.
So in short who wants to “starve” the government. Those who wish to take more and more from it’s people so they have less at the end of the day? Or the one who wants to invest in the american people and grow that great commodity?
