“Yeah, Obama, you can only act like a Republican if you ARE a Republican!”

Too bad they weren’t saying this in late 2002.

Without insurance companies, and pharmaceuticals, the republicans will have to spend their own money to run for office.

Poor omad,
When you are onMedicare, you will learn that the private insurers have been fooling you out of millions of dollars. I pray you come into the light before you end your own existence.

Let’s take Halliburton to task and get back all the no-bid profits from Iraq or from the Katrina gulf states cleanup.
Speaking of Iraq, universal health care would have cost less than half the expense of that preemptive monument to the war profiteers, ask Cheney how his Halliburton stock is doing, about 7X increased value last I heard.
Unlikely that we’ll recover any of that “Blood for Oil” money, Enron hasn’t returned the billions bilked out of California’s energy consumers either.
Corporate profiteering has done well over the last several years, thanks GOP.

M Kitt - That money was hidden away long ago. Invested, dispersed and in many other ways made to disappear.
Harleyquinn - You like that teleprompter gag, don’t you?

Almost three quarters of the American people (72% in the most recent poll) want a public option on health care. The Republicans can obstruct and blow as much smoke as they want, but the people know better what they need.
WestTex13 said, 3 months ago
We have a public health care option.. Join the military.. Serve in a war zone and use VA health care.. The waiting lists aren’t too long and the care isn’t too bad.. ;)

EDGAR BUMPERS, just where are you getting your Medicare now ?
If you want the government to keep their hands off, where will it come from ?
I know, it’s a joke, right ?
WestTex13 said, 3 months ago
Hopefully if they do pass something then they will maintain provisions that are at least on par with current programs for children and the elderly.. Doubtful but we’ll be hopeful.. Stretch too far too quickly without funds is a break the bank proposition.. Of course if tort reform, pharmaceutical price checking, and expensive leveraging is implemented then it has some potential. As long as its not like the Social Security Trust Breaking where its screwed forever afterwards..

Just like the Republicans die to Clinton and the Democrats did to RR and Bush 41, and the last 2 years of Bush 43’s term.
Health Care Reform will nt pass. There are enough ‘Conservative Liberals’ to derial the vote in Congress. It will fail by a slim margin, the ‘Blue Dog’ Democrats will kill this sham bill.

As seniors, we worry that Social Security will be drained for other uses and there won’t be anything left of the money we’ve put in all our working lives in order to have something to live on now. Causes a great deal of worry. Lets just hope they don’t win at getting the money diverted to the stock market.

WestTes13,
The same VA Hospital System with Walter Reed, which kills soldiers? The same VA Hospital that infected Hundreds of Vets in Middle Tennessee by using unclean tools for Colonoscopies?

So what you are saying nayman is 72% would vote for something they see as “free” something they can and should get for themselves.
No thanks i do not need the government holding my hand and providing me something I can find better on my own!
4uk4ata said, 3 months ago
Actually I think Walter Reed was not a VA hospital itself, rather something they “outsourced” patients to. It might be time to bump VA a notch, what with all those veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq.
fennec said, 3 months ago
Tigger, for the nth time on this forum: Walter Reed is part of the medical service for the active military and their dependents. The VA is fro the veterans. They are NOT the same agency. Now have we got that straight?
dtroutma said, 3 months ago
It is Walter Reed ARMY Hospital. And tex, we agree, if they want care, enlist. I find my VA care to be very competent. Part of the problems, a large part, has been under-funding of VA programs since the start of Afghanistan/Iraq to keep up, with returning vets, plus the ones who are getting older from previous conflicts. That is starting to turn around a bit.

Anyone who believes that a government run health care insurance plan would save money is talking straight out of thier rear-end. When something as significant as health insurance is a give-away people will run to the doctor for minor and unnecessary reasons. Here in my city there have been documented reports of people calling 911 to have an ambulance take them to a DOCTOR APPOINTMENT. Please do not forget people, the law of the land is that no one can be denied basic health care when they show up at a hospital with a genuine problem. How else would the illegals get care then?

All this D**n Socialism! Let’s get rid of it: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, public schools, ANYTHING funded by tax dollars! It’s Socialism, I tell you! Public funded Cops! What a Boondoggle! And members of the Government for crying out loud! Why are THEY feeding at the Public Trough? And God knows what else!!
Socialism, I tell ya … … .

Delaware, let’s not forget the Military and Firefighters, Public Works, virtually every government State or Federal service.
The GOP doesn’t believe that “Socialism” BS either, they’re just selling it to support their “We Love Corporate Healthcare” agenda because many of them share in the profits.
