A reminder that Easter Islanders destroyed their forests to move the giant heads they carved? Cultures are often destroyed by ideology, profit, and perceived “values”.

The relevancy of the cartoon is that this is turning out to be a jobless recovery. Joblessness is still lagging behind other more improved economic indicatiors.

The banks are making money. Stock market has jumped like a rocket. Jobs are always the last.
I expect the market to fall again by at least half of this last gain, dew to profit taking. Then jobs will pick up for the Holiday season.
