This is what they want. Don’t want to give up all the perks they get from the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. They have great insurance free for life, so they don’t care if the rest of us have any.

Government folks, including Congress, do pay premiums, it isn’t free. That “privilege” gives them access to facilities like Walter Reed (think about that one a minute) while “in town” is a perk. Yes, Congress DOES write themselves golden drag chutes, if not parachutes, but it is nothing compared to what boards and CEOs write themselves in the corporate world.
