And if you do not tax it it will still only be .038% of the atmosphere. Man will still only be responsible for .04% of that. But I guess it is nonsense not to listen to the cult of global warming that is based on a flawed computer model. One that incites panic when you deiced to see what would happen if we double this number. Sure nonsense is something called the water cycle and sun activity. Which cause this little thing called weather. But I guess a horror movie over something we only have a 0.0152% stake is better. Yes we can believe in this false assumption.

Oh save us from our selfs Owl Gore…….now that is nonsense!

I imagine harleyquinn is happy when .038% of his system is LSD or meth or whatever it is his world is based upon. Yes, the world would be saner if that .038 was something lethal, but we wouldn’t have a crackpot to kick around.

If you don’t believe in global warming, you’ll do nothing.
If you do believe in global warming, nothing will get done.
Try convincing India and China to put pollution contols on ALL of their power plants. Remember how painless it was in the US? And that’s only about 2% of the problem.
    Buy sunscreen.
    Cheers!

Oh yes because I deny the doom and gloom of global warming I am a dirty person who wants to pollute the world.
I say I am a realist who does not fall for phony scams such as carbon credits that take away from real work that can be done. Like Wet Land recovery! I say that the phony feel good global warming crowd does more harm then any good. They spread false science and let hypocritical shake down artist like Owl Gore take money away from those who are doing real work.

Harley, too bad your columnist lacks some facts and obscures the ones he has. RealClimate.org has had some comments on his past history, including his championship of how asbestos really has no health problems associated with it, citing a source who is at best “dodgy.” He’s also the kind of guy who cites unqualified bloggers to refute peer-reviewed studies. Try again.

A recent poll at the University of Chicago discovered that, in a random sample of climatologists who were conversant with the evidence, 97% supported the mathematical models of global warming and the contributions to it by humans. The remaining 3% were, by and large, directly employed by oil and coal companies.
In a non-representative survey of Internet blog sites, 40% of Americans disagreed with the science. The most often repeated reason for rejecting the mathematical models was because Al Gore is fat.

Global warming or not, I fail to see a downside to reducing air pollution. I guess it could affect our economy if we had one. Also, can anyone explain to me why conservatives and Republicans are totally incapable of saying or writing anything ever without resorting to infantile name-calling (Owl Gore)? Of course owls are known for their keen vision and intelligence so once again, another Republican theory (inevitably) goes down in flames. Maybe all the flaming Republican theories are what cause global warming. Besides, I’d rather be “Owl” Gore than “Dick” Cheney any day. Before any of you Republicans and conservatives start calling me stupid names, I have already called “I’m rubber; you’re glue” so don’t bother. If that’s too confusing then I’ll just say “I know you are but what am I?”

“Nonesense?” That certainly isn’t the “acurate” spelling… I love how the right wing misspells and punctuates so poorly. It’s such a time saver. After I come across two misspellings, randomly strewn capital letters, and/or incoherent punctuation, I don’t have to waste time and annoy my brain by reading the rest of their posts,

Daniel- it’s the SUN that revolves around the Earth!! Science, even peer-reviewed, is not to be trusted when profit, religion, or politics might be infringed. Climate change is not “gloom and doom”, it is just nature’s way of reminding us that if you put a .38 against one temple and pull the trigger, when the bullet comes out the other side, it WILL leave some damage behind, well, on those with anything at risk. Just take more Oxycontin, think up more insulting names, and volatile commentary, everything will come out okay.

stealth, I think the standard GOP modus operandi is to rant and spread lies and eventually the echo chamber of those lies will convince some people it’s factual.

and they know it works for some of the people all of the time

Tolestoy, I’m afraid we on the left have our share of poor spellers. Although I value correct spelling and grammar, I won’t discount a person’s comment when they are lacking.

But I agree with you, there really isn’t a down side to cleaning up our mess – other than cost to corporations that would prefer to spend their money on executive bonuses. Maybe they simply feel the same way my kids do when I tell them to clean their room. “Why should we? It’ll just get dirty again!”

I bet Right_On thinks that his furnace controls the temperature of his house, too. Closing or opening the windows, insulating the walls, turning on other heat sources, adjusting the thermostat, lighting a fire in the fireplace, cooking…none of that matters.

I wonder if he ever reads what he writes before clicking “Post Comment”?

I don’t deny global warming for a moment. It is however ironic that we’re seeing colder winters with more snow but I will put the obvious aside.

I have yet to see reputable science that has proven that the global warming we are experiencing is not cyclical. I also haven’t seen any reputable science prove that mankind isn’t making at minimum a small contribution.

People on either side of this debate have political interest one way or another so. It makes it hard to know whether you have an objective source or not.

Find me the scientists that are not government funded or funded by those with political stakes in the game. Find me the scientist that can pry themselves away from their personal worldview long enough to objectively view the facts…and then I am all ears.

In the meantime, I have no guarantees that the scientists making these assertions are not funded by political interest or have political stakes in the game.

As far as the toon, don’t be fooled. The ability to produce hot air is not restricted to one party or another. These are politicians we are talking about…hello!
