At least since AIG and other bailout companies argued that executive contracts required bonus payments while having their losses written off by the U.S. treasury public attention has been drawn to that kind of class distinction, CEO=Golden Parachute, Worker=Job Loss. The auto manufacturers never offered concessions of any kind from the top level, worker pensions and health care were put on the table right away, of course.
