There was a point - back when the number of nominees was still narrowing down - where I told people I thought all the candidates were worthy potential Presidents, even if I had a preference. I was thinking of McCain, among others.
Not anymore. For someone who claims to have built his entire career on integrity, he’s sure crashed that plane the last few weeks.

I doubt that McCain likes what he has done…I blame the party more than him.

He has finally reined himself in, at least. Whether he does the same to Palin is yet to be seen.
There’s an old saying in the military: “it’s always the leader. It’s his job.” For a self-proclaimed “maverick” to let his party behave in a way he supposedly despises is still pretty sad.
