    I’ve seen video of people on wheeled skis.

    No, but apparently that doesn’t stop the climate change denier nuts from commenting.

    Arizona doesn’t want the Olympics… (note for the non-botanical sort: Saguaro cactus only grow in the Sonoran Desert and Arizona)

    @Bruce Lee

    I used to care, now I say, go ahead, use up all of the fossil fuels as fast as we can, so we will be FORCED to develop clean or at least cleaner alternatives. I like the deep sound of my car’s exhaust, but I can live without it.

    And, you reminded me of a line from the Simpsons;
    Rainier Wolfcastle drives up in his huge Hummer-like vehicle.
    Marge asks what kind of mileage it gets.
    Rainier replies, 1 highway, zero city.

    “I’ll be dead by then, so who cares?”
    I’m just very happy that you have no children. Self-evident from your post. Also, your genes definitely do not need to be duplicated.

    I live there. The last time the government here brought sports and built a stadium with taxpayer money 4 of the 6 politicians that voted to do that were turned out of office in recalls and a fifth one shot 6 times.
    Arizona is NOT friendly to taxpayer dollars going to sports teams for anything….

    Better late than never, the next society will have a headstart after recovering from the collapse.
    Knowledge is power and perhaps humans will survive, just in far fewer numbers.

    Depends on who has the most money to buy the IOC successfully. One day we’ll all be glued to the screen watching the Pyongyang Olympics (altho’ not me).

    Likely by 2084, that will be northern Wisconsin or northern Minnesota.

    Maybe we won’t have a winter Olympics by 2084.

    Those “land skis” are already available, even cross-country versions. As to the weather and climate change, 2084 is about right for many areas, like having water sports in Bangladesh and across Manhattan Island. Use the Empire State Building as a dive platform?

    Thanks for that link. I’ve been waiting for fusion since about 1960, when my Dad told me, “The science is all in place, now it’s just an engineering problem.”

    Except for the Cubs and the Coyotes.
