    In many states it specifically says you are allowed to take pictures of police as long as you don’t interfere or cause a hazard. It is only police who tell you you cannot take pictures.

    And there’s your loophole right there. If police are the ones that determine whether your actions interfere or cause a hazard, you could at least end up with a desk ticket.
