..I never saw such a group of Christians-outside of the Catholic church-that hated so much…

If it were not for the fact that Republicans are dragging down the country with their fighting I would love to see them battle .

    To The death

Mr. Thebone, you are correct. There are politicians (on both sides of the aisle) who would destroy this country from within to get their way.

I predict a split in the Republican party. The Racists on one side and the Traditionalists on the other. The only question is which will retain control of the Republican party and which will form a new party. Right now it could go either way. The Traditionalists still have control of the party but the Racists have the primary votes and could use that to take over in 2014.

Sorry Tim, it isn’t, just, politicians tearing apart the republic. They’re just the distraction. It runs much deeper than that.

What an ignorant thing to say Ken. Racism isn’t limited to any one party. The fact that you would imply that shows your own bias. Prejudice is deeply embedded in each of us. It is wrong and the harm it causes is totally unjustified.

But it is innate in all of us. It is a survival skill and a filter that we use to safeguard and manage our lives. When an old lady see a tattoed leather-clad guy with a shaved head it is natural for her to take some extra precautions, It’s inborn and not without some benefit. It becomes wrong when she takes that judgment and acts on it in a way that is prejudice and harmful. It may not be a dangerous skin head but a very nice guy. But the caution, at least initially is still warranted.

And it is more then just racism. We are prejudice against fat people, old people, ugly people, short people, poor people, rich people etc. It is the framework and aggregation of life experiences. It doesn’t make it right but it exists nonetheless. We need to actively work to not have them control our thoughts and mostly our actions.

We all need to recognize that we are racist/prejudice to one degree or another and work to temper and limit it; especially when it intentional inflicts harm.

But Ken shame on you for pointing a finger at any one group and saying they carry the banner of racism/prejudice. It only amplifies your own smallness of mind and absence of the ability to recognize your own prejudices.

Just when you think Republicans couldn’t get any crazier, they go and top themselves with some new act of destruction, obstruction, racism, or fascism – and they are real good at pointing blame elsewhere: “SEE what you made me do!?”

But most of the politicians either are or in the pay of their masters the Plutocrats who have plans for this empire they have helped to build.

The mistake the Republicans, and to a lesser extent the Democrats, is to allow fanatics to take over. In the pay or on the side of those Plutocrats who want the USA and its might for itself. What they couldn’t get in 1934, they may get it now very soon.

The GOP has factions. The conservative GOP and the extreme t-party GOP. Since both sides are authoritarians, and both sides have fighting and negativity as their normal mood and perspective, the Will fight.
I would love to see a come-back of the moderate GOP. They at least would listen to reason and were Not anti-reality and anti-science.
When I realized they don’t believe in science and independent thought, I thought I had heard wrong.
