Yep, that’s about it. Fat old white guys can’t let THEIR flights be delayed, oh, no. Forget anyone of the lower classes who need food, medicine or education. They won’t vote, will they?

I still don’t get it … Why fly commercial when you can just use your private jet, or borrow one from a buddy lobbyist. Commercial jets are so… so… COMMON!

do not forget the president and his family and the senate. Why are none of them cutting back on thier expenses like the 50 people they have for office staff. remember this is not a repusle a can or a demo rat thing its is both of them. Look at all the people that come here and pop a kid and we are paying for them.

President Barack Obama will return 5% of his salary to the Treasury in a show of solidarity with federal workers smarting from government-wide spending cuts.

Pretty much symbolic. For most people, 5% of their wages are significant, for those who have millions to fall back upon, it doesn’t even pinch. /sigh

Politicians should be required to live at the same economic level as the poorest of their constituents.

This sequestration is so, much B.S. Quite a few of the cuts are in areas which are emotional on buttons for the vast majority of the public, and yet with little true impact on the fiscal health of the country.
Closing White House Tours, come on, are you kidding me, what lesson does that teach young children who’s trip to D.C. was cancelled because of sequestration? Threaten cuts to Social Security, a program that has already been raped of it’s equity by previous fiscally irresponsible congress’s. Etc, Etc.
But, touch somebodies pet pork project, discontinue aid to Indian Tribes that already have income producing Casinos and Lord knows what other crap that’s buried in the budget that would make the average citizen so mad, that a new revolution might start looking like a good idea. OH NO we can’t mess with that!

Obama needs to be in there to, how many vacations has he taken this year and over the years. At least Bush covered his own expenses by going to his ranch.

@ Jack: Obama pays for his own vacations. Of course they do have secret service at all times. All presidents do.

Bush spent far less time in the white house than Obama.
that aside, this is spot on! The truely needy are shoved out and the rich ride high in the front of the plane seats.

So? The fact that the Republicans and most of the Democrats went along with it plus do nothing to end it shows they all wanted it in the first place. So just try to take in the larger picture here. Please?

Leave to the media and liberal cartoonist to spin sequestration as a republican attack on the poor. It was Obama’s idea!!!!

But in the world of spin the truth isn’t as important as reinvented perceptions and opinions

The reality is, is that the US government is broke. We cannot continue to grow entitlements. What good is the last dollar spent on social programs if we kill the goose that lays the golden eggs?

We of course need to be socially responsible to those that truly need help but not at the expense of bankrupting our entire country and the future of our children. Fiscal responsibility trumps social responsibility if everything is at risk.
