He is so smart he signed health care legislation that was supposed to reduce costs and my rates are going up 25% next year with my copays and deductibles doubling. Reduce costs by everyone paying more. That is the democratic motto.

I think most people don’t want to be funneled bull dung endlessly, even if it’s with a smile. And if they do, they at least want it to seem believable and honest.

People don’t trust politicians in general because they purposefully lie and deceive and hide stuff. Many people I know who did like Barak Obama before, but do not now, did so because they thought he was going to be trustworthy and wise. When they realized he was just another conniving politician they scurried away like a bad date.

If the media did their job, people would at least know who Obama was/is and what he believed/believes and stood/stands for like they did/do with Obama’s opponants. Then the individual could make an intelligent decision knowing exactly what they are supporting. But it’s hard to be happy when you’ve been bamboozled.

At least those who did support him and knew what he stood for, in truth, could do so without regret.

But then again, we are talking about politicians… so good luck finding honesty and trustworthiness on either side of the isle.

The only way to reform our government is to reform the election process.

    1) all candidates get a specific amount of money to spend. Once they spend it they can’t spend anymore

    2) candidates can only start running 6 months before the general election

    3) term limits 2 at max

    4) candidates/elected officials who accept gifts from donors are executed

    5) elected officials who commit a misdemeanor are immediately removed from office, a felony they are executed

    6) without reforming how elections are funded, away from the begging/donor method of today the individual will never have a voice and government will continue to be controlled by large corporations or extremely wealthy individuals

    7) lobbying will be illegal for all ex-government employees

I have a friend who suggested that the president get one (1) six (6) year term to weave all of his/her “magic” then move on. I like the idea of it. This way, we don’t all have to suffer through eight years of numbheadedness any longer, or believe that “If only (————– insert preferred name here) had four more years he/she would get it right.) Every time I read, think or say that last sentence out loud I start giggling at the absurdity of it. At any rate, a single six (6) year term might help things along. Still highly imperfect, but perhaps a bit more manageable.

Gravity isn’t a myth. It cures cancer. And climate change is caused by terrorists.

Prevent public funded political campaigns. Big business and the wealthy know what’s best for us.

Hey TotalLoser, Good plan. I’ve been preaching pretty much the same stuff. Problem is, we need to find a way to get it on the ballots.

I’m not happy with President Obama and the Democratic Congress eigther. Because of what they didn’t do. Two thirds of the people who don’t like healthcare is because it doesn’t go far enough. Whitout it your rates would have gone up 39%. If tax cuts for the rich stimulates the economy, why were we losing 750,000 jobs a month uder Bush when he finally left office? Ijt’s another Faux News lie. Don’t get me started on those bastards. Between them and The Party Of No, it’s anazing anything is getting done. And much of what is good that is getting done is not getting on the news (do you wonder why?).

But we’re stuck for six years if the magic is just misdirection.

oakwood13 are you telling me your rates weren’t climbing astronomically each year already? Mine have been every single year. However, it is true some insurance companies have tried to scam on this - not because they needed the increases (since they’re in record profit territory) but because they knew they could do it and blame Obama.

BTW, the attorney general is knocking on a lot of their doors.
