sigh, the truth is, they are taking the 2-party system with them.

chucktrent that’s not a bad thing, this country really needs a 3rd party that the media won’t ignore. Been watching the British debates and is nice to see 3 candidates on the stage talking about the issues.

Actually it’s the Dems who have marched in lockstep into the abyss. See you in November… NOT!

Have I ever seen a minority party lockstep? Have I ever seen a minority party filibuster? Have I ever seen a minority party bashed?

Of course they usually change a couple of planks in the platform when they realize they are old and worn out.

We have Dems and don’ts…….we need a better choice…. we need people not interested in their “team” winning but interested in the American people……This would be a big “change”

we need to shorten the time between running for a government job and the election (3 months), we need government funded elections (each major candidate gets the same dollars to spend), we need to eliminate all gifts, contributions to politicians we need term limits and no pensions for elected officials (it shouldn’t be a career but should be a service to the people)

The Brits are voting today after a FOUR WEEK CAMPAIGN. The new government takes over immediately.

It sounds as if it’s a tossup and could lead to some weird coalitions.

I don’t know if any significant change in our method of choosing leaders is possible, but we could do something about the interminable campaigns. I like your first idea best.

The over the cliff thing? I wish!

That is terrific, now lets draw the donkeys marching blindfolded off the cliff on the other side, facing the other way, marching lockstepped off the precipice.

R_Noonan63, Well, when they went along with Bush’s Supreme Court nominees, when they went along with his war plans (without asking any good questions, or, like Senator Clinton, without even reading the National Security Estimates all 97 pages), when they went along with the Patriot Act, and with the Drug Bill…

The Democrats march in lock step, unified, oh please that is hilarious. Will Rogers said it best, “I don’t belong to any organized party, I’m a Democrat”.

So Soldierboy if you go back 40 years to 1970 you are skipping over the Nixon, Ford, 8 years of Reagan, Bush Sr and 8 years of Bush Jr Presidencies. You really need help with your math. But if you mean congress then you overlook they total Republican (party of No) stonewalling on every piece of legislation in mass. Exactly like in the cartoon.

Hmmm, apparently the Dems haven’t thought of a new talking point yet to allow a new comic here.
