I don’t know what kind of dangerous affray this guy once had with subtlety but they are no longer friends.
Humor is, unfortunately for Bucky, intrinsically linked to subtlety and so the mid-joke explanation of the joke (let us remember the OUT OF WORK MAGICIAN sign held by such a character about a week ago) degrades this otherwise “tee hee” into a meh. C+ (Really going overboard for him there)
Just say resume, idiot. I think we can deduce the nature of the interview from the description of his particular skills.
Alternate Punchline: “I can’t stop having these dreams about her Doc… which, you know, isn’t helping things any.”

I bet he’s murder at bath time.

i dunno forceonatr… your jokes usually kick Quigman butt… in this case Tyler beats ya by a finger blade… just a small nick though…
Does Freddie even dream?? I once heard Englund tell an interviewer that he no longer does. I bet that is always good for a laff when he delivers it.
Does anyone think that Buddy still dreams???

Tyler’s writing of the joke explains my small snicker. It’s vaguely funnier than the usual nothing.

I’ve got nothing against Tyler’s gag and I don’t think my punchline is superior (I just thought it was wierder and funnier to me, personally.)
My contention is, and this is the reason for the C+ rating, that he is too obvious in his punchlines. There’s no reason on earth to say “babysitting-resume” when “resume” would suffice. We get it. We are not all drooling on ourselves waiting to be force fed.
Here - I’ll rework my alt punchline bucky style. “I can’t stop having these dreams about her, Psychologist. Which, you know… doesn’t help since when I see her in my dreams I mutilate her. Do you think she’ll ever go out with me?”
There, Fixed.
It’s a pet peeve of mine like the cashier telling you to press the green button. “Oh really? I had no idea… thanks. I’ve never used an atm before MORON.” (yes I’ve said that to them before)

She’s having a “Ballard Street” moment.
Laura seemed skeptical about this potential babysitter.

I get your point, force, and I totally agree with you. I also hate jokes that feel like they have to spell out the punchlines. To me, the funniest jokes are the ones where I have to actually think about it for a minute before I get it. Maybe because I have to work for it, but they make me laugh the most.
