But hopefully she got a comfortable bed, a tasty dinner, a bit of sunlight and fresh air and room to stretch her wings.

    Hopefully.

On my experience, organic eggs are worth the extra money. Not just for the chicken, but for the eater’s tase buds.

So a chicken that someone thinks is happy is going to lay better eggs? How naive is that?

Right on Dale and anyone who will spend $6 for a dozen eggs has too much money and DESERVES to be fleeced.

Look around, folks. There are still people out there that will have a cooler full of eggs on a table by the road, selling eggs. Some even still use the honor system and you self pay. These are chickens that scratch around the yard and make the best tasting eggs.

It’s all part of the concept of buying local food. Not “farmers markets” which quite often are just a rip. Take a drive and hit the back roads and find the small produce farmer that has a stand.

Dale, livestock happiness is measured by stress levels. Unstressed, or happy, livestock really do produce at higher levels. All farmers know this.

Around here a dozen organic, cage free eggs are nowhere near that price. I buy them for $2.65 (Pete & Gerry’s)

This “organic” stuff is one big rip-off. Think about it, if you don’t put fertilizer on plants, what do you put on to get them to grow? Poop, that’s what! Manure, cow $hit. Sound tasty yet?

So true! People who haven’t researched it or tried it are always the first to mock it.

Organic doesn’t mean they aren’t in battery cages, it means their feed is all organic. You want chickens that aren’t in cages, you buy pastured. Even free range chickens are in the cage most of the time. As for my wife and me, we raise our own chickens and they have the run of the back yard. Just watch where you step or sit down. As for six dollars, that must be California. I can buy organic here in Illinois for half that.
