I always did think “because it’s there” was a stupid reason to climb a mountain and risk getting killed.

Until you’ve experienced conyoning, parapenting, white-water-rafting, hot-dogging, VTT etc you’ll never understand why we try them.

Either that or he’s been hit in the head too many times.
Still not sure what conyoning or parapenting is. Obviously never won a spelling bee.

    It’s called “Ya Gotta Wanna”.
A coupla years ago, I went to a yard sale hosted by some dudes who’ve been pals in the same town for 70 years. They had a big wooden barrel full of 3" metal balls. I asked what they were, and Mark said they were ore crusher balls he and his buddy found in a canyon near Julian (old gold town in San Diego County), and they spent a summer of their teenage youth humping them out.
“And why do ya think we did that?” , he asked with a twinkle in his eyes.
    " ‘cause it’s bitchen!"
